I dreamt that i was sitting in my friends house, alone, watching the TV. I walked into the kitchen to get a cuppa, and realised a had a ciggie in my hand that was half smoked!
I knew i had smoked it, but had no memory of buying the tobacco, rolling it or smoking it!!
Imagine my relief when i woke up this morning and realised it had all been a dream!!
Anyway, i have also woken up with a REALLY sore throat and painful chest this morning!

Morning Claire, that want be the last dream Im sure but the good thing is they are only dreams and you wake up feeling relief at the fact you havent smoke not one puff.
As for the sore throat and chest it was probably the onset of these that created the dream, keep up the water and it will help the detox continue.
Other than that you are still sounding possitive, you will soon begin to realise that quitting is a brilliant thing and Im sure you are starting to feel the real benefits.
i feel so much healthier already, despite the chest and cough etc.
I love being a non-smoker!
The 1 thing that i never counted on was the lack of enthusiasm of other people!
My mum has never smoked in her life, and doesnt seem that happy that i have given up smokinh (same with my best friend)..my sister has tried several times to quit, but always goes back to smoking in month 3 (for some reason) and is NOT being very supportive at all! I would have thought that because she knows what its like, she would support me more, but no!
I KNOW i am only on day 15, but to me, thats a massive deal, and i am really happy about it, and chuffed to be a non-smoker!! I dont understand why others cant be happy for me either! I almost feel like they are just waiting for me to slip up and start smoking again!!
Sorry for the moan Jam, i just needed to get it out there and see if anyone else has had the same kind of thing!?
I know what you’re talking about with the not to supportive part of family and friends. I feel that way sometimes also but that only makes me want to succeed more. In my case I think it may be the fact that I have quit several times before (3 months up to a year) and they think that it is just another lame attempt. My second thought is that maybe they weren't all that supportive before either and now that we are not smoking we just realize it more.........Every dog has its day and karma can be a b*%^#
If it is support you need you will find lots of it here......... these are good people who want to see you succeed
Hi claire..i remember them smoke dreams a lot early on....its dead weird coz its as if it really happened:eek:........15 days is very good matey ....well done you
Morning Claire, think lateral, maybe Mum cause she has never smoked doesn’t really realise the implication of you continuing to smoke, and maybe sis will be a bit jealous if you get past the 3 month mark, only a thought but I seem to have less close friends since I quit as now I don’t mix with the smoking friends.
Had any more dreams yet, they can also be funny as well xx
I went to see my consultant today (need to have an op on 17th Nov, which is why I have to give up smoking - plus all the other benefits) and he was really chuffed that I had given up. Said he didn't think I could do it and that it meant my recovery rate has significantly improved, so that was a much needed boost!!:)
I have had the odd dream where I am drunk and have given into the nasty beasts, but then the feeling in a morning when I realise that last night 1) I was drunk  but that 2) I hadn't smoked!!!!
I now dont care about the lack of support/enthusiasm from others, as long as I know i am doing well, thats all that matters!!
Well done Pinotlover- bet your consultant was really impressed with you!!
Well today is day 16, and i am feeling the best yet! I havent had any cravings for a couple of days, and last night was the easiest i have had yet (evenings are my worst time for cravings, as i used to smoke more in the evning due to boredom)..so doing much better!!
How are you feeling pinotlover?
Thanks Kitkat- yep, i am actually quite impressed with myself, as its only my 1st time of quitting (barr pregnancy) and it seems to be going ok so far!
Hi Jam- i am also not looking forward to seeing my smoking friends again, for a couple of reasons:
1- i am worried it will tempt me
2- i dont want to stink of smoke
3- i dont want to smell the smoke
4- i actually despise smoking now!!
It makes me feel really bad, as they are my friends, but i just cant bring myself to sit in the same room as them, due mainly to the smell!
Anyway, enough of my ramblings, just wanted to say:
Claire30 - feeling great at the minute!!! Cravings pretty much gone and feel ace. Went to my local shop today (only for bread don't panic!) and they guy who owns it said, "how you doing with the no smoking, not seen you in here for a while!" he then told me he had guessed I had stopped as he had seen my partner buying trebor mints and buckets loads of chewing gum - plus not seeing me in ages!!

Cannot complain at all today!
I am glad you are feeling great, i think we are both feeling pretty much the same at the moment!
It made me laugh when you told me about what the man in the local shop said to you, as i had a similar thing the other day too, the lady at the corner shop asked me if i had quit, as she hasnt seen me buy tobacco for a while!!
I had the same kind of dreams! one where I was at my friends house and i sparked up and started smoking a fag and halfway through the fag I realised I had quit and just ruined it and started crying lol! when I woke up i thought for a while it had really happened as well!
