I was doing some reading and found that a few people said that pure 100% Eucalyptus Oil helps bring up yucky mucus, so I went out and bought a bottle! It was only £1.49 lol. I started using it tonight, feels like vicks vapour. Will let you know how it goes & what I think.
p.s
22days in and I havn't really coughed up anything major, only 1 fresh black tarry looking batch about 3 days into my quit and thats been it! So I thought I'd try this, I know its in my body!!! Just waiting to come out

Hi alex
i havent coughed up ought ..3 months later!!! need a good spit out:eek:...olbas oil in the cupboard me thinks mite try some of that ...let me know how the eucalyptus oil does you? xx
Some people dont hack and cough, I know I only had a couple of good coughs and some black tarry stuff and that was it so I also am waiting for the cough to come back, which I dont want back of course but we are lead to believe we should cough and cough untill we have cleared our lungs but maybe some of it doesnt come up thats why we dont get 100% lung capacity back but we can do our best and improve them as much as we can
"Exercise will also help loosen the crap after you first come clean. But if you havent been exercising already then if you are really unfit then check with Dr about how much or how little to start with and build gradually.
Vitamin A, can actually help your lungs rebuild and restore alveoli which some scientists and Drs reckon cannot ever be repaired after smoking damage, but the alveoli are what swap carbon dioxide for fresh oxygen eat plenty of carrots, sweet potatoes, or mango as these are good sources for you in a natural way.
So if you want to cough try not to force it and not too much of the oils they can be pretty potent and burn the lungs.

im scared now ...so that means i have no lung capacity back yet then? xxx
No you ittle plonker I didnt mean to scare you cause now you have a 100% more lung capacity then you did before you quit just that it will never go back to how it would have been if you had never smoked, but because you have stopped it will improve, and if we get fit we can be as good as it’s possible to get after smoking so that lets me and you out LOL
No seriously although they can never be perfect again because we have been abusing them so badly for maybe years to us they will feel loads better, before you quit could you run up the stairs without puffing heavily, no I don’t suppose many could but I bet they can now so we are improving daily.
We smoked so we have to except we will never be as good as if we hadn’t and this is the punishment we have to live with isn’t it.
I for one am happy that I am trying to get a better quality of life not just for now but for the future years I hope I have.
And who knows with the leaps and bounds that science is making we may be able to claw back some of those lost years due to smoking.
I've never coughed up anything in the slightest bit horrid, didn't when I smoked either. I've been exercising recently (finally reached 10 stone, had to do something!) and am chuffed to bits that although my legs got tired, there was no shortness of breath or tightness in the chest, but I know I used to when I smoked.
I wouldnt worry about what does or doesn't come up, if you can feel yourself breathing easier and deeper, then it's a good job.
I didn't wanna overdo it so i've not used it for the last 2 nights, can feel most of it at the back of my throat so I think i'll let it come up naturally and save the bottle for a rainy day!
