Well done for quitting..
It will get easier...I know it dont seem like it will...but it does..try drinking water, as this also helps with the craving...and deep breathing...

Hi, welcome
Good for you on getting through 24 hours. The first few days can be for some folk, the toughest. It does become easier though and to help you understand what your going through (mentally and physically) read up all you can via the links in some members sigs here. Knowing will help you deal with what's happening and also read ahead in week 1, week 2, month 1 etc.
Three days is what it takes for nicotine to vanish from your body, your already one third the way to that. Craves on average last 3 mins..... the frequency and intensity of them diminishes over time..... hang in there and believe you can do this.
Quitting is bloody hard, but it won't kill you. It just feels like it can
Struggling
Hi
Thanks for your replies, I am at work and the two girls who I work with are smokers, they have been great and certainly dont encourage me to have one (as some people have done in the past)
Its terrible that something so awful has such an effect on me !!

Hi cam_log
well done getting past the first day , to be honest it is the hardest as you have made one of the biggest descisions in your life ,,, you have chosen to give up something that has ruled the best part of your life, it has changed your lifestyle, it has changed your health, it has changed you personality, and trust me it knows you are trying to reject it,It will do everythjing it can to make you change your mind, it will make you , Cry, angry, hungry, guilty,an insomniac.
these are all the bad things
Cam_log each hour that passes and turn into days it will get easier you will feel less angry less emotional, a lot healthier, dont give up on that now you have come so far generally each day theows something different at you the worse one for me was all my mates will be pissed off when i dont smoke with them .......... err no they were not they were happy and proud of me and still are when i go pub i can stand out and talk to them whilst they have a fag and i it is ok.
Be focused and determined the next couple of days dont be downhearted and keep telling your self you are doing the right thjing because you are. Come on here everyday chat to people join in on the threads make friends buddy up with fellow newbies and help each other ....... hang in there freedonm is just a little bit around the corner

Hi Cam_log
Elastic band around your wrist, give it a good ping as and when the cravings get silly. You'll not have them too often!
Naturally things should calm down after day 3, just try to stick with it.
hello and welcome to the forums! Well done on your fantastic decision to quit!
Were all behind you every step of the way and theres always someone around to give some support and advice where u might need it
Keep positive and congrats
