Day three, some honest truths!

Day 3 is upon me and I have discovered something today, that I didnt discover when I last quit. We all know emotions run a little higher, I certainly feel more emotional. I am never one to argue, have always been a peace keeper really, and it was only today, after a very slight disagreement with my hubby, that I found myself very emotional. Took me by surprise, but then thinking about it I realised, that I would normally stay very calm, then pop outside for a cigarette. What happened today was that I didn't do the popping out, couple of minutes of calming myself, didn't have an excuse to walk away! So had to deal with the emotion full on. Had never noticed how I used smoking in that way, was quite a shock and a bit panicky for a while.

Anyway, I had a few silent tears, deep breaths, and enjoyed the rest of the day. Watched a film with the family, they've all gone to bed now and i've noticed hubby hasn't had a cigarette, he's gone straight to bed!? I'm having a glass of wine and a quick chat to you guys before I turn in.

Be strong everyone, and well done.

Cheers.

there is no reason in the world why you should not go outside in the yard for a quick breath of fresh air when the moodies hit though... it worked for me.. i used to always step outside for a smoke, when what really worked the most was stepping outside. the smoke was just something to do while i was out there. Make a hot cuppa and step outside for a breather.. it won't harm you one bit and the cool air may help at the moment anyway.

keep going, there is always hope for one who tries.

Yes there is!!! it's too bl**dy cold. Do go out if you feel it helps we all know how much we thought we needed to smoke and smoking was the answer to everything.

I think your going to crack it.

Lozza your doing great I have become very emotional at times and I'm a guy, I think.

I was the same Lozza around day 3/4, feeling very emotional over the slightest of things and it is very unnerving, but I must say I am ok now. It's certain little things that you could never imagine stopping smoking would cause. By what I have read on this forum being emotional is very common on giving up.

Well done on your progress and overcoming what you have.

Hi Lozza.

I feel the same as you. A bit tearful over the slightest thing, and a bit stroppy.

Last week hubby wasn't well and with me stroppy can you image what my household was like?!!!

It's the time of year also. Christmas over, weather lousy, dark mornings and dark nights.

Keep going. Things will improve.:)

Best wishes

Ju x

Hey Lozza!

I know what you mean regarding popping out for a cigarette when emotions are high, you don't deal with the issues AND then you go outside in the cold to fill your poor little lungs with crap. Now you are a non smoker you confront the issue and move on a lot quicker.....how cool is that!

Keep up the good work love.
