Day 13 - Lucky for some, or not?

13 has a bit of significance to me.

I was born on a Friday the 13th.

I passed my high school exams on a 13th.

I got my current job as IT manager on Jan 13th 2007.

And of course, this quit started on the 13th

It's generally very lucky for me. Today is day 13 of my quit - and I'm struggling a bit, if I'm honest.

Last night I dreamt I had 2 puffs and woke up panicking in a cold sweat... took me several minutes to realise it was the middle of the night and there were no fags nearby. A cold moment of realisation that my "demon" is still not asleep.

Also, just before bed last night I had my first temper tantrum :mad: Not nice. Luckily the Mrs took it in her stride.... "About time, I thought you were too cheerful recently" were her exact words.

And I have been, my only change in mood has been for the better so far - but today I am grumpy as hell

no matter how easy some of us find a quit, there are always moments which creep up on us and catch us by surprise.

It is not the "easy" times we need to worry about, they will take care of themselves, it is the "moments" like you are having today that we need to watch out for. You are going really well with this quit and i feel that even if you get a couple of bad days you will not cave in to these feelings.

your doing well mate. i know how your been feeling... been there. what you

need to watch out for is old nick never sleep, he is just waiting for the right

time when he know how low you are feeling. then he jump on you with both

feet, don't let him beat you. be ready and strong. when you feel a

tantrum coming on. go for a walk or read a book. even better come on here

and talk to someone about how you are feeling mate. there is alway someone

here ready to help. BE STRONG,, BE READY,, BE HAPPY,, BE QUIT,,

Please don't get me wrong - my resolve has not been dampened by this. I have simply accepted it as part of the process.

However, it is still difficult. I never thought it would be easy and I will get through, have no fear.

There are good days and bad days, the longer you do the more good days there are and fewer bad.

One thing I am taking as a big positive is that in the dream, I felt horrible having those 2 puffs. Very sick and very dizzy. When I woke up, I felt ill - and very angry with myself until I realised it was just a dream... and then realised that I still had no desire to smoke.

So... the dream is a sign that I still have to be very vigilant, but I am winning - and I will carry on winning

dreams are a b!@tch aren't they??? confuses the hell out of me! The other day i dreampt i was driving down a road near where i live in a tank and stopped at the co-op to buy a vintage musket! then chickened out of going to war because i didn't want to leave my son without a mummy (bizarre! just a subconscious manifestation of your anxieties and fears), stay strong and positive and kick the demon into touch, we are in control no one and nothing else! (not even a tank ) xx

you are doing so well with your quit but PLEASE stop taking the drugs too!!!!

Oh and the CO-OP stopped selling muskets about 2 years ago!!!!
