Into the second week we go then. Made it through the temptations of the weekend with only a couple of moments of longing. Even had a friend round for drinks and stood outside with him while he smoked...and no problem.
Chest still aches but seeing that as slow recovery.

hi im on day 7 of champix now but still smoking ive had none of the side effects that people have mentioned i.e feeling sick nd dizzy and cigs just taste normal. is this a sign that champix may not work for me or am i being too impatient
Delface. Don't worry about the Champix, give it time. It varies for some people. Main bit of advice I can give you is don't force it - one way or another. Don't stop yourself from smoking if you really want that cigarette, but equally important don't smoke if if you're just going through the routine and don't really want it.
Some people take the full two weeks to be in the right frame of mind to quit. I was on Day 13 of Champix. But you have to be the one to decide to stop. I think you'll know when it's right. Keep posting here and let us know how you get on.
I'm also just going into week 2 and it feels surreal - never got this far before. Keep it up Delboy - it sounds like you're doing great.
Delface - I thought the same as you about the Champix (ie this is having no effect, it's not going to work for me etc) and then on day 8 I was suddenly gagging on cigs. Quit on cx day 9 and haven't looked back. You'll know when the right time is for you. The sick feeling started in the middle of week 2 on cx but eating a biscuit when I take the pill has done away with that.
Hi Delface, I'm on Day 6 of Champix so I am right behind you I have noticed that the first ciggies of the day is great, but after that they go down hill and in the afternoon and evening they are truely vile, but I am still smoking. I just hope I have the willpower to stop on Thursday. But good luck.. we can do it
