Stopped 19.11.09 at midnight & I'm doing fine on patches. Seems to be overdosing on satsumas though! Are they bad for your teeth?

Hi Debby, and welcome to the forum. Well done on your quit, 8 days is fantastic. I would not worry about the fruit just yet, a lot of us around here just reckon you can pretty much get away with anything for the the first month or so, anything other than smoking that is.

Glad to hear the patches are working for you, there is loads of advice around here about patches and quitting in general. I would suggest you read loads and try the links in some peoples sigs it will really help with the mental part of the quit.

Good luck and keep posting.

Cheers guys

Thanks all. Day 9 now & still doing well. Had a dream last night that I'd smoked 2 fags & was really upset when I woke up. Thankfully it was only a dream. Is this common? I seem to be sleeping much better & am much less grumpy in the mornings. Its so nice not having to go out into the pouring rain & galeforce wind to have a smoke. I can stay in the warm watching out of the window. Back to see the nurse on Wednesday for my 1st visit since quit day. I was surprised she didn't have me blowing in the carbon monoxide tester tube thingy. Don't they do that any more? Hey time for work now so I'd better get my trusty bag of satsumas and I think I'll splash out on a bag of grapes as well. Vit C overdose here I come!!

Hi Debby :D

Great day nine keep it going you're doing just fine

The dreams are very common for us quitters but they cane be upsetting until you realise it was just a dream but the dreams will stop as suddenly as they started before to long Promise

Yes the nurse usually gets you to blow in the carbon thingy at least once when you first quit but all of them

Love

Marg xx

Wow SmokeyBear. You live in the upside down bit of the world! :) Have never been but mainly because before stopping smoking I wouldn't have been able to stand the flight without being arrested for smoking in the toilet on the plane! Wow, just realised that now I'm a non-smoker, the world's my prawn!!

Yes I come from a land downunder. Thats why I didn't have a clue what satsumas where? I guess now its a type of fruit? The advantage I have is that I reach the next smoke free day ahead of you lot. :p

Can't believe you don't have satsumas in Australia. They are gorgeous! Am also addicted to grapes (unfermented of course!). Day 12 coming to an end now & tomorrow is my 1st visit to the nurse after stopping so feeling really proud of myself. A really stressful day at work today & craving like mad but I haven't given in.

Great to read all your posts. Everybody is doing SO well.

Keep it up guys XX

This is a very positive thread. DebbyL and Tiggerpaws heading into week 2 and smokybear heading into week 3. Congratulations and well done.

Smoky, satsumas are a type of orange. At least that is what google told me. Florida oranges ripen at christmas time. yum.
