Sweetheart, maybe it was too early to give up the Champix. I know some people have and it's worked for them BUT it does recommend 12 weeks.

I forgot to take my morning one yesterday and by lunch I was really bad, and I was like that all day.

Entirely up to you Jack and I will help and support you all the way through your quit, however I just think maybe you should take it for a couple of weeks more (even if it's just half the dose).

xx Chin up

What they said.

Not worth jeopardising your quit for....

Jack, I've been wondering all day how you got on with cutting out the Champix. You've done so well so far, and you're trying to cut Champix much earlier than is prescribed. What abut cutting down to half a tablet in the morning? That's what I'm doing and I'm not having any cravings at all. Please don't risk the quit. be strong

The most important thing is your quit, so do whatever works for you. Read, read, read it really will help and if you need the Champix do it.

We are all here to support you, whatever your choice.

Keep strong, and let us know how you are getting on.

Hey Jack

Seems strange not to start bemoaning the fact that you've not called home for three weeks unless it's to ask for money, but then I remember your NSD Jack whose doing a great thing in quitting the smokes and not my 19 year old permanently broke son who can only call his mum to supplement his student loan.

Jack..... I admire totally what your doing but remember, please don't push it if it's really too hard. I'm sure it can be done without but there's no harm in another week or so of Champix if that is whats required. Take note of what your gut instinct tells you and then question it some more :)

As Sue suggests, maybe half a tab for a while might be good.

You have to find what your capable of and make that choice, being prepared to alter if need be - all the best with what you decide.......... good luck fella

My humour falling flat as usual. My son is called Jack - your called Jack - my opening line was "Hey Jack" At that point it felt like I was about to email/write to my son and .............. get it now? :) No......... ? never mind.......;)

Any way, onward with your fight against the urges - no grabbing any fags (unless it's Friday and your in Hell - don't worry, another bit of humour ;) )

Hi Jack :)

If you're finding it really hard go back on the champix rather than risk your quit ther's no shame in admitting you came off it to soon after all

Well because of my mood swings and for my own sanitity and marriage!! I've decided to cut my morning tablet out and in fairness up to now I feel (mood wise) my normal self and no cravings. I will see how that goes.

How are you today Jack??

nsd_user663_5598

I'll be interested to see how it goes Christine. I'm getting a bit fed up of feeling shite....not sure about my temper as hubby's away but I just can't be bothered to do anything...sleeping too much and everything just seems such a bloody chore to do. I used to whizz around doing everything when I smoked. I put it down to lack of adrenalin but I suppose it may have something to do with the champix. I'm too scared to stop any though in case I get a full on crave :(

Hi JJ

It's that whole 'do I look bovvered' that was getting to me. I've always been a career girl but for the last 4 weeks I have just not cared and due to that things have started to slip at work and besides that I was highly emotional about everything.

All that was just so out of character for me, and I do blame the Champix. However it does exactly what it is supposed to do and stops the cravings and I would recommend it to everyone but you also need to keep an eye on your own behaviour when taking it and notice the changes beside from just the stopping smoking traits.

I will let you know if going to 1 a day helps, but for the record I will say this is the first day I've not wanted to eat a small child, covered in chocolate and deep fried!! So maybe our excessive hunger has something to do with Champix too??

I will let you know my lovely.

Hi JJ and Christine

I did feel much better when I cut down to one tab a day. I still took the morning one. Mainly because I was fed up being so tired. The dreams were so weird they kept waking me up (if that makes sense) so I wasn't getting a good night's sleep which was making me shattered and 'can't be bovvered' during the day. I did about a week on one tab then half (breaking it in half is a bit of an effort though!)

See you in Month 2 in a matter of hours! I'm restocking the bar and rolling out the red carpet. In fact we've decided not to roll it up as we have a constant stream of new arrivals. Great.

:D You know due to the fact you are the 1st one every month to move, it's down to you to get the place ready for us!! Bless.

I just want to say, I do not want to put anyone off Champix because the results are fantastic, it's just a rocky road for a month or so but I'm sure it will be worth it.

Sunny day here, hope it is with you.

I've stopped taking the morning tablet a week ago, like Christine, I was fed up being highly emotional all the time, crying for no reason etc... besides, I kept forgetting it too :o

I haven't really noticed any change at all so I'll carry on with one tablet a day, but will probably finish the full 12 week course as I want my quit to be a success.

Got ice cream and chocolate ready for our 1st month anniversary on 13th :D:D
