Strangely Jealous.................

Hi All

I was telling the GF about this site, the Octoquits, and the support we all seem to get from each other and our shared experiences. Then a very strange thing happened, she became strangely jealous. I couldnt for the life of me understand this attitude. So i just said ok its easy to join all you need to do is start smoking and carry on for 30 years, waste thousands of pounds, destroy your health and those around you, become a social pariah, give up in October 2039 and then you can form your own Octoquits.

Brilliant. It's a tough qualification period for anyone who wants to join our group.

I think the Octquits are doing great. We seem to have a wonderful bunch of people who are not only supportive of each other but retain a sense of humour throughout.

Just think a month ago, none of us knew each other (well, we don't in the 'real world' sense) but I feel like I know you all now. First thing I do in the morning is check the forum to make sure we're all OK.

Good reply back Jack. Oh dear, I hope she now realises what she should be grateful about not being part of.

The support we get from here or at home is equally important but I guess to some partners, esp if they have never smoked, it may seem they are on the outside of something they don’t really understand.

Just let her know her support is just as important to you and whilst we’re ‘virtual support’, she’s real support.

Hi all. Jack, know exactly what you mean. I've had a couple of comments too, but the better half understands that you guys are helping so she's ok (must buy more flowers and chocolate for her). Must admit, I haven't told her the m/f ratio..... i don't know but I suspect Jack and I are in a minority (lucky us)

LOL....I loved your responce....v funny but will cost you extra on the flowers and chocs front you realise.

Dave....you have it cracked...flowers and chocs is always the correct answer..

Mr Lorna is on day 14 today with his quit but he will not join in because he thinks I am talking to lots of men, so I suppose it works both ways...he he!!!
