WTF... after nearly 5 months smoke-free I have been thrown a carveball in the shape of dreams of having a cigarette... this inturn, has increased my cravings again!!! How bloody annoying... has anyone else had the same thing... its doing my head in, and if I were to replase it would be now because the dreams make it seem so benign and acceptable...

Right with ya Vicki, I'm on 4 and a bit months, had one last night and in it I wasn't even that bothered that I'd failed had quite a few of the dreams and each one has me feeling a different way, sometimes almost suicidal cause I'm smoking, others feeling elated to be smoking again. The wierd thing with me is that when I'm with people smoking I am not in the slightest bit bothered but there are days that seem like it's day 1 again when I'm in work and I get really restless.

I can relate to what you're saying about the dreams
I had one on Thurs, last week after almost 6 months quit
Woke up around 2am convinced I'd had a fag scary or what took a while before I realised it was only a dream arghhhhh but didn't sleep much for the rest of the night
Unlike you it didn't bring back any cravings though it just made me a bit cross

yup, count me in. I hadnt had any dreams about it until two days ago when I dreamt I was being forced to smoke in my sleep, I dreamt that I woke up with a cig on the go in my hand and there was nothing I could do about it because I was sleep-smoking ! Took me a few minutes to come to terms with the fact it had all been a dream, then I felt relieved.
Ive been quit for nearly 5 months now too.
I had one that was so realistic and vidid that I took taste the smoke in my mouth and smell it after I woken up. Really felt like I'd been smoking all through the night. I was so convinved that I smoked, that I was confused that there was no packet of cigarettes, lighter or matches and no dog ends any where.
My brain kept telling I derserved a cigaette as a way of celebrating not smoking for a day, a week, a month. How freaky is that
Thats spooky, is there a 4-5 month sticky patch thing do you reckon? Theres a lot of the Jan quitters posting re cravings or smoking dreams. I can't advise on how to deal with them and I have great sympathy for you all, but I thank you greatly for posting as I shall be most certainly battening down the hatches next month in anticipation of something kicking off in my head.
Have had the odd smoking dream after 11 weeks smokefree, and I must say they don't bother me in the slightest, after all they are only dreams. Makes me laugh when I realise what has happened. David
Oh thank god its not just me... they are as realistic as sex dreams ( not that I have them )... you can taste and feel it... and the guilt when you wake up is awful!!

I have had a few smoking dreams since I quit but I'm just relieved when I wake up and realise its all a dream. I am usually so cross with myself in my dream so if anything it has helped me with my quit because I know how mad I'd be with myself!

iv had about 4 really vivid smoking dreams. one where i climbed a high wall in the rain just to get some fags and another where my mum was dying of some smoking related disease but in the dream i was still a smoker.... :confused:
think its absolutely normal to have these dreams. i think of it as my brains way of cleansing my subconcious and removing associations to the dreaded weed.
mine started around the 4 month mark too x

exact same thing!! thought i had actually smoked one time...was so glad when i realised it was just a nightmare
