Well I'm done and dusted with my 3rd week so here I am in Month 1.
I'm feeling quite good and even though I still think about smoking, its a hell of alot less than I did in the first two weeks.
Think I'm being abit of a chicken as I've still to tackle tea, coffee and alcohol as I haven't really touched them since the quit.....well I took a sip of OH's coffee the other day and didn't really like the taste:confused: does that mean that because my tastebuds are now working properly they decided they don't like coffee?...or that OH just makes a crap cup? haha
Well I've got a party to go to in a couple of weeks so might hold off and try an alcoholic drink then, depends on how brave I'm feeling
Hope everyone else is doing fine on this lovely sunny day!

Well done, that really is the bumpy bit over! I have moved onto flavoured filtered coffees (decaf, not a caffine drinker anyway) Today I have toasted pecan flavour in my cafetierre and with a square of dark chocolate its yummy!
Thanks Marg, I do hope to get back to drinking normal tea soon....marmite on toast just isnt that same without it
Hi Fiona, that does sound yummy, I may have to try myself! I've become quite partial to herbal/fruit teas and have quite the selection of Twinings teas in my kitchen now
Hi, Lottie! Congratulation on getting to week 3! Almost everyone on here has given up coffee and tea with their quit, but they gradually get back to it. I never did. I was more afraid that if I gave up my morning coffee as well as the cig, things would not work(if you know what I mean!). Just had my coffee in a different place from when I was smoking. It only bothered me a little bit, so I figured that was one less hurdle to go through.
Thanks Jody, will have to see how it goes, its wierd I used to be a massive coffee drinker and now I don't crave caffine either anymore...maybe its a good thing? haha
Cheers Gaz, well done, your doing great, yeh I can't wait until I've done an entire month either, then be counting in months instead of weeks!
Sorry not posted you miss a lot of support to people of late. Because this bloody internet is playing up gose ok sometimes but then I could throw the pc out the window. HEHE. Anyway well done hun your doing fab you will be in month 2 before you know it.xxxxxxxxxxxx
Thanks Caroline, hope your ok and know we're here for you
Thanks Linda, haha don't worry about it, my laptop has been a right git lately so know how you feel....the window does seem tempting sometimes but then I remember I'd have to spend all my saved ciggee money on a new one!
Fab stuff on getting those 3 weeks out the way - counting in months is just so much better!
I've been eating too much chocolate generally, but must admit to preferring the darker flavours now - is that to do with quitting and taste buds coming back? As for coffee - can't get by without it I'm afraid. Ive kicked the nicotine into touch - but the caffeine, well now, that's another matter.

Ok confession time, this is embarressing but I had a massive crave the other day, I was in a foul mood anyway and was crying for about half an hour, I was so fed up that I put my shoes on and walked round to my local shop (still with red swollen eyes) and..................................................spent over £10 on chocolates and sweets and just pigged for the rest of the night.....oh the shame
Honestly Lottie that is hilarious!! Just the sort of thing I would do. Not just buy one bar of chocolate, but spend a tenner on loads of it, plus another tenners worth of trashy mags like Heat and Reveal and also a tenners worth of scratch cards!! Then jimjams on (or snack pants as my husband calls them - following my new eating obsession) and off you trot!
I probably would have added some lovely cheese thins, wotsits and a bottle Baileys!!!
I have been consuming large amounts of sweet and savoury stuff since quitting, I have gone up a dress size but I dont care at the moment, the weight thing will come later!!!!
McVities chocolate biscuits are an absolute must for me at the minute
Very dangerous, I will end up eating the whole packet! lol
I love fooling myself by eating loads of cheese on a Ryvita!
Haha I actually got some Ryvita while shopping today with the intention of being a bit more healthy.......that blew up in my face with the amount of chedder I plonked on them! I blame you and Sally hehe
