3 weeks done tomorrow

My dewbury is telling me.

20 days

05:43:16

364 cigarettes

£109

Headache though...I think I've been noodling on my guitar for a little too long. OR possibly the fact I've been awake since 3 this morning. I'd quite like a hot milky drink but that will lead to peeing all night.

A little too much info I guess.

Anywho - I very much hope all my fellow quitters have had good days. Even those that haven't they'll get better. Plus secretly they've been good days any way. I'm not sure why...they just have.

Is it 3 weeks already? crikey it doesn't seem that long since you started. Glad I saw this because I'm just about to go out to pick someone up and have to go off the computer.

Sorry you are not getting sleep but great to see you where you are.

Must go.

Jack

Well done Mart, perhaps a cup of camomile tea, still make you pee but your breath won't be as yuk tomorrow morning :D

Thankies all,

Jack - Seems to be flying by eh! I can't really get my head around it either. Time is passing far too quickly at the moment.

MAH - is camomile a green tea? I'm not sure I'm allowed it...will have to investigate.

Nope camomile is actually a herb not a tea at all, it does have some side effects, such as dermatis is very senstive individuals and some hay fever sufferers have problems.

Recommended on the basis that it aids sleep and I've found it nice before bedtime, was in the position of wanting hot drinks in the evening and wanting to avoid caffine, there has been a need to re-educate the taste buds though cause they're use to milky drinks.

3 weeks sounds like such a long time and I agree - it really doesn't seem all that long!!!:) Well done Mart - I'm with you in this and it's day 21 - I'm having many more good days than bad days and can't believe that I've got this far... 20 a day seems a long time in the distance!

Can't give you any advice about sleep though - sorry :( I'm drinking loads of tea day and night and it doesn't seem to stop my sleep pattern (obviously I need loads of it!) Hope you have a better night's sleep tonight!

Well done again - keep it up - Rachael x

Oi Chrissie, don't expect me to be playing till the wee small hrs of the morning just cause you is over caffinated and bouncing off zee walls.*taps foot, shakes head and looks for Marg; then sips nettle and fennel tea, smiles benignly and chants whilst astroplaining through to the evening*

Mart I hope you got some sleep last night, I get some restless nights dreaming about putting posts on here my other addiction haha:D

Rachael it's great to see both of you around the same time that's about where I was when I first found this forum. Speaking about time passing so quick I've now more than doubled that time. I was thinking this morning lying in bed about this georgous blo........sorry em I was thinking I stopped on 2nd Dec 09 and how long ago that seems now. It was way before Christmas and new year and new year seems to be ages away now.

Jack:)

Cheers all,

45 minutes and counting!

I've not been a great sleeper for years, its just got a little worse since I stopped. Saying that work has been interesting so it could be completely unrelated. The mind can do funny things by association!

Saying that I did do better last night. I'm working from home today so that saved me getting up at 5ish for a start. Might have to knock the beer on the head for a week to see if that helps.

Mart, one thing I have found and it could be related, you said you have to be up 5ish.

I find in the job I do that my starting times vary, most days I won't start untill about 10am bearing in mind I usually have a half our drive to get there and I don't finish till around 7.30pm and get home after eight.

Sometimes I may have a driving test that starts at 9.37am and I have to get to my pupil an hour before which means I get up much earlier than normal. These are the nights I can't sleep it seems to be I worry in case I don't wake up in time even thogh I know I will. If you have to get up that early you could be inwardly worrying the same.

Thank Jack,

I'm not too sure to be honest. I guess I don't have to be up at that time, it's just I have a 40 mile commute to work which has either been in or on the outer skirts of London (Acton, Heathrow and now Surrey). I've been doing so for the past 10 years so it's pretty much routine. Could be anything though I guess! Change of diet, stopping smoking, work itself....

I've now officially competed 3 weeks though. Now I don't have a home ... Week 3 would imply it's a place for people on their third week. I've not done a month yet so can't go there.

I'm a hobo..."maybe tomorrow I'll want to settle down, until tomorrow the whole world is my home" la la la
