72 hours... and counting...

Hi to everyone,

I'm really chuffed to have made it through the 72 hour mark. It kind of arrived without me realising it, which i thought was a bit sneaky! But maybe it's also telling me that I'm getting to where I want to be - not thinking about fags all the time! I don't want to get my hopes up too soon, of course, but can't help feeling good about making it through so far, and then will use the positive feelings to keep on keeping on.

Also pleased to have made it through a full work day without a fag break - that is a first in many many years.

Off home for a nice cuppa, which won't be spoiled by filtering it through cigarette smoke!!

Deke

Hi Deke :D

3 days is great well done and I am so pleased that you feel good about this but as you say don't get your hopes up to soon but this really good patch will help if you get a bad day or two at some point, but yiu may be one of the lucky ones and have no problems

Love

Hi Deke - fantastic that you have gone through the 72 hour mark!

Now it is the habit you have to break free from. You have already shown you can get through a full days work, a few more days without a ciggie and you will get used to getting through the day smoke free!

You CAN break the habit but you have to be patient! It takes quite a while (usually 3 - 6 weeks) to re-educate your brain and go through the every day motions without needing a ciggie.

Every new situation you face without a ciggie is a new hurdle overcome!

Thanks all for the positive comments and helpful advice. I don't think i'll get complacent. Have been controlled by cigarettes for far too long and now it's time I took control back.

Not sure if I'm lucky or not, but have coped so far. When I look at how long some of you have been smoke free it's a little bit daunting. But like you I'll get there - and I can only do it one day at a time.

And if my experiences can help give support to others in their quit, then so much the better.

Doing Fine Since March '09 :)

Well done Deke. Three days, soon be a week and then it will fly by, has for me anyway. Onwards and upwards. As Marg said it is good to have this good spell, just remember it, then you'll know it's worth it, only you can burst your own bubble Deke. David
