I cannot sleep, it's been about 3 weeks since I touched nicotine, possibly a bit longer. I don't feel like I want a cigarette, but I just can't sleep, I've tried everything, nytol, alcohol, my mind is tired but I just don't switch off. Is this to do with giving up? for the last week I was waking up after 3 to 4 hours of sleep being wide awake, then the last 3 days I have had no sleep at all.
Can't sleep at all: I cannot sleep, it's been... - No Smoking Day
Can't sleep at all
That's not good!
Sleep problems are a symptom of quitting but it does sound like you have got them in the extreme! They normally ease within the 1st 4 weeks so hopefully it will be better soon.
In the meantime since they are affecting you badly I'd consider talking to your GP about it.
Hope it gets better for you soon.

Sleep problems are indeed very common when quitting - I still have bad nights from time to time (almost 3 months).
If it is really getting to you, a trip to the GP is possibly the only option - but bear in mind that it will get better sooner rather than later.
However, 3 weeks is awesome!!! Well done so far.
Don't let sleep problems get in the way of the quit - that is much more important! I hope you feel very proud of yourself.
sounds like to me there is a bit more to the not sleeping then just quitting in this instance although you could just be unfortunate enough to have the side effect really bad,
are you stressed or worried about anything at the moment?
sounds silly but is the room your sleeping in tidy, warm and dark? i can never sleep if the rooms messy or lights are on.
either way id suggest a trip to the doctors cos 3/4 hours a night is not good and it could make you ill and run down if you dont get some proper sleep soon.
as far as the quit goes well done for 3 weeks. thats fantastic!
