Here`s the deal, last three fags, ripped two up & smoking my last one as I write this.
I want to quit for many reasons, save money, save my health, also my partner used to smoke but quit when she had our first child, now she does not approve & I also don`t want my kids seeing me with this dirty habbit.
Stumbling accross this forum I feel I will have great aid & advice which will take me across the finish line, I will be going cold turkey, if anyone feels I should use patches or gum etc then shout at me.
Nearly there..
Okay, docked out at 23:24 12th June, wish me luck.

It doesnt have to be a nightmare, it can be one of the greatest things you'll ever do. Be positive and you'll be fine.
I would say try to educate yourself a bit, there are plenty of links flying around this place which are invaluable to helping and sorta getting your head in the right place, which can be key.
Hang around here and keep us informed, you'll get lots of support.
Admire you for going CT I couldn't have done it that way BUT many did (sure they'll be along soon to tell you how easy it is). You yourself know if you can cope with the three bad days that they say CT takes rather then the weeks or even months assocaited with NRT.
What I would say is read as much as you can on the subject - condition yourself to understand that you are not actually giving anything up as there is nothing to give up.
Personally I used champix and it was easy - UNTIL now - and seem to be struggling for some reason.
Welcome to the forum by the way - and yes good luck.

rome wasnt built in a day, count every second which turns to minutes which turns to days which turns to weeks.
my first 10 days felt like a month, time will go slowly.
it gets better every day.
DO us the links in my signaature whyquit.com is EXcellent - know your enemy.
Cold Turkey is a Great way to quit IMO and the way i did it, a few days of emptiness and uneasiness and you are free, cut it off dead - you have a great reason to quit. GGGOOOOOODDD LLLUUCCKK!!
Ditto all the above - if your heads in the right place it will be your time to quit and you will soon be over the worse, a few days when u feel like your in mourning but thats normal - dont give in kepp looking at your little one to remind you exactly what your incentive is..... they wont want daddy stinking like an old ashtray.......you will surprised at how quickly you will hate the stale smell!
Thanks for all the advice everybody! Day one is just about over, a very very long day! But a cigarette free day.
What was hard today was forgetting I was stopping smoking, actually heading out of the office at work for outside & cig, then saying to myself crikey, I am not doing that anymore! Breaking the routine of the cig action cig action cig... very tough.
My focus is now on day 2, I am pleased with today but i`ve gone a full day without a cig before so i`m not getting carried away, this is going to be hard but I feel I've been focused today.
I`ll post again on day 2 I feel if I do post & read things on here it will be essential if I am not to have a cig again.
Lots of nice things about not smoking. Just keep telling yourself you can do it, 3 days cold turkey and they say your on the mend so not long for you. !!
Thanks for asking flying, tbh, i`m glad the shops have shut, Today has been the worst day since I quit late night Thursday, all day I have been thinking about cigs, the first thing I thought about (And I was hardly awake) was a cig.
Oh I've eaten like a horse today as well, probs spent as much on food today as I would of done on cigs, hopefully this will ease off soon.
Well as folk around here say one day at a time, great advice I feel, tomorrow will be a new challenge, either better or worse, temptation was hardcore today, I feel I might need to be extra extra strong tomoz!
Im sure tomorrow will be better, you will get one day in the first week thats bad its old nic leaving the body. Hope today was your worse but it dont last forever Linda xxxxx

You're doing excellent Dale. The thing is that the early days can be quite difficult and we have to persevere, dig deep and actually work this quit. It won't happen itself...hard but true. Keep on reading and educating yourself and things will get easier.
