Well what can I say, I actually got here! 4 days, gettt in! Didn't think at the begining of the week I would. Last night was a bit of a wobbly one, but that's because it's the weekend, don't think there is much difference to the week, it's just when I chill and liked to smoke more! Well done guys and enjoying readining you posts and drawing strengths on all of your experiences. :D

Hey all, hope you are all having a good weekend. Not been too bad for me. Sat down and watched a flick with my better half tonight so that was nice, along with a couple of glasses of wine. Had a couple of urges but managed to dig out some nicotine gum from the cupboard and chomped on a piece of that, and man, it was rank! Wont lie, I have missed the old habit. Been a bit easier this weekend though as I haven't seen any smoking friends, and I'm going to have to really be strong when I do. Had a brill day with my little boy, and nice thing was didn't have to sneak off for a crafty one! At the mo feeling quite chilled about things, but tomorrow could be a completely different story! :D

Yes,

Well done Natasha. You're on the nasty part and it will soon just get tedious!!

No...I mean BETTER..!

Now I'm worried about not supporting your quit.

That was a joke, Natasha, though probably not in the best of taste!

BillG - don't you worry! I have a twisted sense of humour too! Day 5 now, in laws are meant to be coming and that includes Pam, FIL fiance. 5 months ago she had heart surgery as her arteries were clogged due to smoking, and she did really well and quit. She was such a fag lady, she inspired me as I thought if she can do then it should be a breeze for me! Unfortunately, a couple of days ago she admitted to smoking again, which I though was really sad. I MUST STAY STRONG when Pam visits me today

Hi Tash

Your doing really well and just think when pam comes she will see you have quit and maybe she will give it a try again. linda xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

That's true. It's just sooo sad. Been a nightmare this morning, my poor husband! He understands though. Did it himself a couple of years ago so he knows exactly how I feel. I've got the cleaning demon in me, and finding it difficult to sit down, even though I'm meant to be resting after my operation. Today is not a good day  Thanks for your advice, I'm sure that she is feeling awful herself. x

Hi Tash yes i am still with you, weve just been out all day,:) still got craves but not as bad as yesterday, feeling much happier now. :)

Hiya Fairywings. Glad you had a nice day. Sometimes it's good to get out and forget the quit - until you walk past a smoker and all of those memories come flooding back! Smell of stale smoke on a person kind of puts me off a little though. How long has it been for you now? It's tough today for me. Had a really bad day, and wanting to give in but have resisted the temptation. Day 5 today and grumpy as hell. I hope I feel a little better about things tomorrow.

hi tash i,m on day 4 just a day away and catching you up fast. just 24 little hours, not as much now quit is lasting longer.:)

Well done on reaching day 4 (probably day 5) by now! Yesterday was absolute hell and I know that it was mainly due t not smoking. I didn't get to sleep till 3 in the morning, and feel like a zombie this morning, think I also look like one, don't know which is more frightening! I just want to get to that week milestone now and I will be feeling really proud. Knocking the sweet fatty stuff on the head too, could eat myself if I put my mind to it!

I have been quit for 5 Days, 11 hours, 41 minutes and 32 seconds (5 days). I have saved £16.39 by not smoking 54 cigarettes. I have saved 4 hours and 30 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 01/04/2008 22:00

Hi Tash, good job on not smoking. Thats great!

Just wanted to ask, why do you think you find it hard sometimes? 'Cos of the cravings?

I'm not getting any and I'm on Day 4 and kinda worried about it! lol I know I'm mad, I should rejoice in the fact I'm finding it really easy this time (and trust me I am most of the time) but sometimes, just very occasionally, I wonder why I'm like this...I have my suspicions but can't keep banging on about that.

I know you've quit before...has each quit attempt been hard for you or a mix?

Hiya Maddy. To be honest I was fine until yeasterday (day 5!) and since then I have struggled a little bit. I'm sure it will pass eventually. Just want to get to one week! Just been budgeting and have discovered that I can't actually afford to smoke, so it is no longer an option! Why is food and petrol costing so much at the moment, I'm finding it all such a struggle! x

Well done Tash for getting through the first weekend. I found the first weekend the worst part of the quit and unfortunately I slipped and therefore had to go to Day 1 again:mad:. So you should feel very proud and chuffed that you got through and succeeded in kicking old nic into touch this weekend. Well done you.:D:D

Thanks Jan - it was tough, I wont lie and on a coulple of occasions I had to talk myself out of walking to the garage to get some! I do find the weekends the toughest time. Completed a budget plan today and did not add cigarettes into the equation! I only smoked 10 a day, but that's an extra £1000 a year, which could pay for 2 hoidays! I just need to continue to stay strong now and not succumb. The really nice thing is that my husband has started to say well done to me. Think he'd given up on me bacause of the daily attempts to quit, but think he's quite proud of me, so I'm happy :)

I know its hard Tash but we are all here to help and before you know it you will have got to the 3 months stage. I found the time has passed quite quickly and can't remember that last cig at all. I hardly think about cigs now. I am sooo glad your hubby is supporting you now as well.

Keep up the good work, onwards & upwards (I know I am stealing someone's saying on here but I like it:p)

OMG - look at you, you have saved £450 in just 2 months! I do hope you have treated yourself? Have you noticed having more spare cash? Going to Devon in a few weeks and satying in a beautiful cottage. I'l have been a month quit by the time my hol comes, so should be calm for it by then (I hope!) Can't wait to breathe in the sea breeze without chemical smoke going into my lungs at the same time! Think my treat may have to be a big bottle of perfume. I love perfume, and the bonus is I can ow even smell it myself hee hee ;)

I have noticed money seems to stay in my purse a bit longer but I can always find something to spend it on only now they are nice things and not those that go up in smoke. I treated myself to some perfume on holiday in Tenerife and it sure smells a lot different to what it used to and you don't have to put loads on either. Now treating myself to a tumble dryer as mine decided to pack up on me last month. As we live in a flat and there is no drying area they are very handy machines to have. Drying clothes is murder at the moment.

Hope you have a brill time in Devon. You will be able to breathe the sea air without coughing your lungs up and think of the fun you can have on the beach with your little boy. You now have a target to get to and a treat at the end of it.

Good luck Tash and keep on posting.
