Entering my 3rd month!

Well, that's 2 months smokefree! All is well with the world. The constant hunger is beginning to subside so I think the weight gain should stabilise now. I actually was a bit too skinny so I look better with a bit more weight.

My life is very different from before. I am so much more active and I procratinate a lot less. I don't put things off 'til I have a cigarette'! Life is good and my OH has stopped as well and seems less cranky. My 4 boys are delighted that we are not smoking.

Any cravings I have are easily dealt with. I had one wobble last week but did not succumb to the craving. No way will I give up on my new zest for life.

Well done Ellie & OH!

You sound so positive & proud, rightly so. Your boys must be very proud of their mum & dad :D

I remember the 'I'll just have a ciggie first' before I did anything. had forgotten about that you know. All that time wasted :D

Have a great day, enjoy every minute of your new life ;)

Thanks for your kind words, Chrissie & Gaynor. I love the healthy pink lungs.

Well done Elaine! So nice to see you're so positive, that's great.

Still waiting for that boundless energy thing, hasn't happened for me yet, but after reading your post, I live in hope. :)

I hope you get an energy spurt soon. It's funny my OH has had the opposite reaction. He keeps falling asleep and has to go to bed early. I joked with him the other day he had narcolepsy. We have completely reversed things. It used to be me who whent to bed early.

It's been all over the place for me recently, things have been a bit turbulent (the OH I moaned about in my earlier posts is no longer my OH), so I've been dealing with the fallout from that, too.

The last couple of nights I've been having that 'wide awake at 3am' thing again, but before that I was so tired, I was falling asleep still reading, then waking myself up with a jump then not being able to get back to sleep for hours again.

I'm sure it will all settle down more as time goes by, it's probably more to do with the break up than the quit, but gawd, can't wait for it to sort itself out! Going to the gym tonight and have my sleepy kalms at the ready... so finger's crossed.

Hi lottie,

Sorry about your break up but well done you for staying on your quit.

I am having real trouble getting to sleep at night. It's getting so I don't even want to try going to bed. Like you I feel really sleepy when I go up but then toss & turn for hours. Am having herbal, relax tea now so hoping that will kick in soon. Also taking my patch off earlier even though they are supposed to be 24 hour ones. Just need to break the cycle & soon :(

Hope your session at the gymn & the kalms help you tonight.

Thanks Gaynor - here's hoping we both get a decent night's sleep soon eh? I'm sure things will look much brighter once I've had a week or so of decent sleep. :)

Lets hope so hey. Well past my school night bedtime but am almost scared to go up. Tossing, turning, sighing. Stupid thing was I have almost always had trouble getting off to sleep (but not this bad) so would get up & have a fag or two :eek: yes, those things that are supposed to keep you awake. Nearly always did the trick for me. I must just be a bit odd LOL.

I'm still up too... managed over an hour at the gym, was knackered earlier but thought I'd wait until I was REALLY tired... and now I seem to be waking up again?!

Rubbish - right, camomile tea, Kalms, BED! :)

One more and I think we'd officially have a gang! Or would we be a herd? I dunno! Maybe a troop? If we were lizards we'd be a lounge. Sorry I find 'groups' of animal names quite amusing.

You can't tell what I did when I couldn't sleep can you!...It went away in the end.

Sardines = Family

Trout = Hover

Waterfowl = Plump (HA!)

I'm sure I'll participate in a quiz one day where the above may come in useful.

I'm sure you will Stav - I certainly could have murdered some crows last night, arf arf...

I like crows. From a distance they look like giant flying raisins.

Might start counting giant flying raisins to try and drop off then... makes a change from sheep ;)

Lottie, I hope you got some decent sleep eventually. How many flying raisins did you count?

Today is good although I am slightly stressed about finishing my assignment. I have my youngest son at home again because he has a stomach bug. Still I am nearly halfway there. I feel the need for some fresh air. I have not done any exercise since Saturday. I had then stomach bug on Monday and have been nursing sick kids since then. Hopefully, I can go for a run tonight.

More condemnation for smokers on the news this morning. I am so glad that we have stopped. Only wish we had done it sooner but better late than never.
