Well it is 8 weeks for me (and hubby) today and I am starting to feel like a true non smoker. We went out for a meal tonight and the smokers got up after each course for their fix and I wasn't jealous in the slightest - in fact I felt a little sorry for them that they are still hooked.
My father-in-law stopped for 2 months (by taking Champix) and then started again (on the sly with just a few a day). My girls bust him though and now he's back to smoking almost normally again. Such a shame to go through the side effects of Champix only to give in a few weeks later!!!
Well the e cig was used a little after dinner - but I only had one gum today so I'm happy with that. I think I will be ready to give up both in 4 weeks, although will be taking both on holiday for emergency use only!!!
Hope everyone else is doing well and Happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there!!

YEAHHHHH 8 weeks! Great job Sarah!!!! You are doing great! So - your husband quit at the same time as you? I bet having each other to lean on has been helpful.
Superbly well done Sarah and you have become such an asset to these boards, giving such consistent support and advice to others
Your father-in-law is the only person I have yet heard of (I think) who took Champix but failed, hopefully he will see the light again soon!
Congrats so far on a stirring and smashing performance X
Thanks very much Max! Actually I am another of Champix's failures!! I stopped for about 4 months but then started again the first time I used Champix (very stupid i was). The second time I used Champix I had to stop taking it after a few weeks as it made me severely depressed. It was a pity as its very effective at removing the craving!!

Thank you! Yes he stopped 12 hours after me so we are doing this together.i think it's easier that way (except for our kids I guess)!!! They get 2 moody parents for the price of one at times...
You feel like a non-smoker because you are one! Doesn't it feel good to say that????
I can say that too...Although, I am having a crazy crave for a cig and it has definitely been a while since I have smoked (30.04.2013) so why all of a sudden is this happening to me? I thought I would be okay! and I really don't think about smoking during the day all too much! UGH..I am "NEVER TAKING ANOTHER PUFF"
Sorry, this is your post... I will start my own sympathy thread...lol

It does feel good to say that! But it's taken me a while to feel this way! I have a feeling the cravings will continue for a while on and off but hopefully they will be fewer and further between them! Hang in there you are doing great!
Unfortunately the crazy cravings do still come and go, was struggling myself last week, you just need to be strong and wait it out, as whilst not great they don't hurt or impair you in any way
Thanks, I didn't smoke. So I can continue to say I am a non-smoker... YAY!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this forum and ALL the people!
SJT you are correct and Scottie, I know, right? They suck when they come out of no where.
You know one thing that MAKES me mad? I have a friend that has smoked for years, just when he wants to! He won't smoke for months, then smoke hardcore for a week or two, then quit not pick it up for months or more, then start out of the blue...HOW can people do this??? I am so confused at times...I wish I could do that and not get addicted to it!! UGH :mad::mad::mad:

Thx Melzee!!! Our holiday is the next challenge. I just hope we can get through that ok and have a great holiday too!
You are a true warrior in my eyes. I am very proud of you, what a good way to show we all can!
Thank you for all the support you give us!
Oh happy days!:D:p
Thx Vicki!! I will be SO happy when I reach 6 months I think. For me, that's when I know I have made it (with the last 3 months without any NRT or e cig).
