yea bud! you are that dude or the dudette! keep it up 'cause the ride just begins... I am close to the close of DAY 6 and it is like EEee RrrERTA Brrrrrr literally... DAY 5 (yesterday) and today were the toughest stages of my quiting so far... I have been speding time in euphoria dreaming of how powerful I felt being a non-smoker now and all the things possible now such as being able to breath, etc... you get the point being a NORMAL person not an addict. :D On the other hand believe me I don't know how the hell I made through yesterday and today... I just can come up with a million stuff but the real thruth is I dared myself to NOT FAIL... I want to to feel completely FREE of the craving... I want to forget I was a smoker... The real truth is I want to completely rid myself of this horrible addiction.

These stuff is a legal DRUG! Man I wonder if when I began smoking around 14 or 15 years old who was my pusher? The ads? TV stars paid to be smokers? Why was it soooo fashionable to smoke?

I'll tell you something we ALL have been addicts and buying these drug under the legal system...

Just think about it do you want to buy the drugs and continue enjoying this stupid 4 or 5 seconds of relieve or do you want to live free and think about other beautiful things you could do in life...

DO NOT GIVE UP... Enventually we all are going to be free of this...

Keep on following my steps stay away from people as much as you can.

Good job on your DAY 4!!! Welcome to a few days of struggle and your freedom for the rest.

Hi Nev.

I'm just coming up 2 weeks on a diet of cold turkey.

The first 4 days was easy because I was deliberately not smoking.

Then I'm nicotine free so everything else can only be in my mind.

At 12 days my body is clearly missing the drug. I wake up in the middle of the night, I've forgotten how to spell and I find myself stood in the middle of a room wondering why i'm there and where i was going. I'm told these things will pass but regardless of that they don't make me want to smoke.

I reach for my cigarettes occasionally through habit and I find these little pockets in my daily routine that used to be filled with a little smoke but now i have to fill them with something else.

Withdrawl is all in the mind therefore you can think your way out of any crave.

I read something similar to this: "Remember those times when you've only a couple of smokes left and you drive out into the evening looking for a garage to buy some more, or when you count your pack contents and work out anxiously whether they'll see you safely through to the next buying opportunity?"

Well I do remember those times and now I see them for what they were, cravings and withdrawl symptoms for summat I actually hadn't given up.! Withdrawl symptoms for something that I still had.! Good old fashioned anxiousness that I "might not be able to have a cigarette."

How can that be unless it is a totally mental thing..?

So now, I know that my body needs no more nicotine than my non-smoking wife's. If my brain tells me otherwise, I know it's lying and I can treat it with the contempt it deserves.

Non-smoking is not a distance from your last smoke, it's a state of mind.

Keep it up...! ;)
