Hello new members and regular contributors. Welcome to the daily diary, where you can post your meal and exercise plans for Sunday.

The aims of the Daily Diary are to record plans in order to firm them up and make it more likely they are adhered to. The magic of this site comes from sharing ideas with others pursuing their own weight loss journey. Please comment on at least one person above you or have a good chat and find friends. The support is phenomenal. Advice given is constructive and with a good heart and may not suit where you are, but six months down the line who knows. Please share your calorie range as per the BMI calculator and calorie count for menus or any alternative method of recording your intake that you may be using.

The Daily Diary has played a huge part in my weight loss and I am thankful for the kindness of its members. This is my first Christmas on the forum. You may have some great tips for getting through Yuletide to share, I would welcome these please along with your menu.

So, for Sunday, low carb method

Drinks Tea and Coffee with cream (up to 50 calories per cup), herbal tea, filtered water

L Egg and bacon (may just eat one meal and eat the egg and bacon as a salad starter for dinner)

D Roast chicken, cabbage, cauliflower cheese, roast parsnip and gravy. Berries and cream

Exercise will be a walk round the car boot sale and dog walking (hoping for 12,000 steps each day), kettle bell exercises and hypnosis/yoga relaxation CDs. Not forgetting arm ache from writing Christmas Cards 😊

Have an excellent Sunday!

Hi Hopalong (and Roy), thank you for hosting!

I aim for 1400 - 1800cals daily.

B: HM chai tea latte - 100 cals

milk in other hot drinks through the day - 200 cals

L: beans on toast; a banana; an apple and carrot muffin - 480 cals.

D: Mr Bikegrrl has undertaken to make a tuna pasta bake thing - not sure of the calorie count but, as we plan to finish the pear pie (300-ish), I think I have enough cals in the "bank" to see me through.

Exercise: housework (boo!) - some cycling later, as we have an extra choir rehearsal.

I am going to pop outside just now for a walk in the sunshine, before it goes away!

Hopalong1 profile image

Good on you with the housework. I must keep telling myself it is great exercise :) Sometimes only baked beans on toast will do. Hope you have had a lovely Sunday.

House work ugh I would give it a miss. I do anything to get from doing it. 😊 Had a good day out back home now and worn out. We had a cheese and ham toastie with a Cappuccino. Long time since I have done anything with out Roxie. So it was a real treat. 😊😊

You've been busy! Cycling to choir? Hope your roads are clear , take care in this dark. Tea sounds very yum!

Hi there Hopalong1, sorry for late entry!

I don't calorie count ( used to get me so stressed) but try to be mindful of calories if that doesn't sound contradictory, focus more on healthy eating, boosting veg intake, healthy fats and minimising carbs

Breakfast Greek yoghurt blueberries and cuppa tea

Lunch soup, no bread and Americano plus milk

Tea I'm trying a new recipe involving stir fried Brussels sprouts (no noodles or rice)followed by green salad with beetroot.

Will have a g&t and some green olives about 7pm

Can't find my recommended daily calorie intake at present, will add shortly

Really pleased that have kept away from snacking (Thanks Hidden !) And the bread.

Good luck to everyone in keeping to your plans 😊

It looks a lovely day. What else did you put in your sprout stir fry? My husband loves sprouts as much as I don't. We cannot all be the same :) This way of eating has made me love filter coffee, so never say never on the sprouts. With the baked beans above, I have Heinz no added sugar. Sometimes now I find things too sweet. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, Diane.

BridgeGirlAdministrator2 stone in reply to Hopalong1

There's what looks like a great sprout recipe at the end of this link that may even appeal to non-sprout people. I haven't tried it yet so can't guarantee it tastes as good as it looks theguardian.com/food/2019/n...

Thank you, BG. We have to have them. Am not too good with celery either, although cooked is ok :)

BridgeGirl profile image
BridgeGirlAdministrator2 stone in reply to Hopalong1

I have turned round a 60+ year hatred of celery and can now take it as a cooked veg on its own (as well as hidden in stir fries, bolognese etc)

Diane2 profile image
Diane2 in reply to Hopalong1

It's very simple, may post on Recipes later. Ginger and sesame seeds,1 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tsps sesame oil.

Hopalong1 profile image
Hopalong1Challenge Host2st 7lbs in reply to Diane2

Now that sounds nice. Thank you :) Ginger is good for arthritis it says in my Chinese herbal.
