I learned early to be sceptical of most things. Follow the money has always been my first mantra. Then show me the proof of what you are saying. Some things I will accept because the alternative is going downhill at a greater rate than I am comfortable with. Some things hurt and when it is looked at carefully it just does not make very much sense. Bee stings for example just sounded painful and really there was no repeatable proof that I saw. So of course, I for one think leave the poor bees alone.
Disease Modifying Therapy (DMT) I disliked at. First, I am rather needle phobic, but they did have some recognizable verifiable proof. My proof, I had Mri every year, proof. So they won through until something better came along, It did, that tablet. So now I take Tecfidera twice a day. I like this because it reminds me of my Relapsing Remitting ms (RRms) and does not involve needles. Yet, still reminds me when I try to forget that I am very sick, that yes I need to be sensible and look after myself. I lost the 6ft tall and bulletproof aspect awhile back.
I am still sceptical of things, perhaps dubious is a better word. Either way, wary of people claims whether I hear them or read them. This is something "YOU" will pick up during this journey. Not everybody is trying to hurt "YOU" or take your money. Be wary but open to well-meaning kindness. It takes a little while to juggle the two, but it is a skill that "YOU"must learn. Take your time, be wary but allow beauty and kindness into your life.
A little kindness is a very good thing and if "YOU" can show it even better. A little scepticism should stop "YOU" from getting hurt too much.
