No never. it is lifelong. It is progressive. It is incurable. One thing it most certainly is NOT is fatal. "YOU" my dear ms family member are going to live a very long life with this illness. How well "YOU" live is as always, your choice. Choose to take the annoying Disease-Modifying Therapies (DMT) They are modifying not curing. There is no curing. Nobody anywhere knows how "YOU got ms, and nobody knows how to cure it. There most certainly are ways to keep "YOU" on your feet longer and to keep "YOU" healthier. Take your Disease-Modifying Therapy (DMT), quit smoking, drink less, exercise, do not gorge on a fatty steak, exercise. Generally, be healthy. Do not sit around watching television smoking and gorging on cholate creme-filled biscuits. Try to keep your money in your wallet. Always ask for proof when somebody makes outrageous claims. I am where I am because I took DMT from the start, I go to the gym three days a week, and I try to watch what I eat. Not because I followed some naysayer guru. I have regular Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) images taken and read the reports. I may not know exactly what it means, but I have an idea.

He said she said is not proof, at least not good enough for me. People twenty years ago had no treatments, we do. Hate them as much as "YOU" want. Convince yourself that "big pharma" is hiding the cure. Whatever gets "YOU through the day, but there are medicines now. Not cures, there are no cures for anything, think about that. Do yourself a favour be careful of people wanting your money and their promises. I do not want your money. I want "YOU" to live this life as good as "YOU" possibly can. To be content, even happy. Be careful in the advice "YOU" listen to. Not everybody has your best intentions at heart. Twenty odd years ago there was nothing. Today there is. By no means it is perfect, but doing nothing has not helped anybody ever.

Hi RoyceNewton,

Your words about MS not being a fatal illness just incurable (forgive my paraphrasing) are exactly the words I would recommend to anyone who is newly diagnosed! When I was first diagnosed in 2015 I read everything I could until I found this wonderful group! Some of the articles I thought were truthful and recently reread found they were obviously not!

THANK YOU!

Jennie

Not fatal, however it does complicate life as I know it. So, until there is a cure, it will remain with me until the day that I die. Good and thoughtful post, Royce. :-D

I love your posts. When I read them reality sets back in. I am doing really well on Ocrevus to the point that I sometime forget (ignore) that I have MS & still need to take some precautions as to not exacerbate the disease. Your posts bring me back to earth. Thank you.
