Pegasys update

Hi all,

So the blood results are in and I’ve had my consultation with my specialist nurse.

My platelets after one week have dropped from 450 to 253!!

I’ve gained at least 2 hours a day but not energy.

My WBC have been compromised so I have a reduced immune system.

I'm now dropping my 9 anagrelide and 3 of my 17 hydroxicarbmide a week. Last night I took another 90 units of interferon and paracetamol and went to bed waiting for the nausea to kick in.

Nothing, no nausea no headache.

No 5-2 diet!!!🥴

I have to have another blood test next week, no doubt the platelets will rise but hopefully the WBC will too.

I’m hoping my haemoglobin will also. How I wish to be above 100.

Am I asking for too much?

On a different topic I stumbled across ‘The Spoon Theory’

Thank you very much to whoever posted it. It’s brilliant.

Such a great result, really encouraging to hear.

Your haemagloben levels may well rise after coming off of Anagralide. Likewise, your energy levels may also improve when you’re on Pegasys alone.

Good that you’re being monitored closely too, especially with regard to your WBC.

Good luck on your new journey

Wow, that’s amazing! My doctors here have been reluctant to use it, but maybe I’ll broach the subject again in the near future. I will be following your posts with interest. May you continue to improve.

It sounds like you are having a positive response to the PEG. Perhaps you will be able come off the other meds and will feel even better. if iy turns out PEG is really the right med for you.

All the best.
