I am not sure what your exact situation is or if you have other health problems, but I would check with your physician before taking Vitamin K2. While it is very good for most people (in fact, most people have a vitamin K deficiency), some cancer drugs are vitamin K2 inhibitors, which means taking a supplement, or even eating foods high in K2 like leafy greens, prevents these drugs from working.

Thats very interesting, I have been taking K2 with PV for years and not had any probs, in fact I think it helped with visual migranes I used to have before starting on Rux, does anyone have any info on which cancer drugs it shouldnt be mixed with , I have never heard of that

I take hydroxyurea ... I think vitamin K is the one we have to be careful about but K2 should be fine. They do work differently.

Keiks, I don't know which K2 form your using but I'll focus on K2MK4 since supplements utilize a synthetic form whereas K2MK7 supplements are not. It is my opinion natural sources should favored in place of K2MK4 synthetic supplements as they are more potent and cost effective. Dr Weston Price observations in the 1920's caused him to credit a substance from grass fed sources he called activator-x now called K2MK4. There is cancer research with K2MK4 and K2MK7, the last link, while titled for ovarian cancer, brings out other cancers in the text. Research it for your specific diagnosis. Always consult your health care professional before using any supplement.

Hi Pte82 ... haven’t started using yet.... doing my research for now but I was looking at the K2MK7..... I’m really trying to find “exact” information as to whether it works like a blood thinner which is what I don’t want but I don’t think that’s a factor .... thanks for the links .. I absolutely will check those out !!!

Keiks, your research will pay dividends as you add to your knowledge about all aspects of the K family. This link about vitamin K, clotting and more will be worth your time. Suggest starting with "My Story" in which he mentions the effect high vitamin C has when getting a vaccination.

Just wanted to mention that I have Budd Chiari syndrome because of PV, which caused me to put a stent in the liver. I take warfarin daily, which blocks the vitamin K in order to deactivate the blood clotting mechanism... Please check with your specialist before taking decision.

Cheers,

Malek.
