Hi. I have PV (on hydroxy) and take D3 daily. The dosage is 2000iu. Not sure what you mean by ‘high doses’. I bought this particular product while waiting for the government issue D3 (which took months to turn up!).

I know that this is a higher dose than those that were offered free but although at the top end it’s within the advised daily dose. I would be wary about taking anything higher.

I’m not sure what good it does me. I’ve had no major infections etc. But then I haven’t really been out and mixing in infection prone spaces!

I’ve been taking it continually throughout the pandemic since it first hit the radar. Has anyone been advised to take a ‘holiday’ from it? Feel as we are heading into Autumn I may have missed the boat this year!

High dose is 5000 iu. I took it when vit d was low . Good job I retested as it was a bit over range after using for 9 months.

I stopped over summer and just started one capsule every other day.

Always best to have blood tests done before taking .

Thank you to all your response.

I mean high dose is 5.000IU or higher.

looks it is safe for people with PV.

I will start vit. D3 5000IU today.

I have PV and I am Vit D deficient due to another condition (Neurofibromatosis type 1). I am taking 3000iu per day. Dosing was confirmed by blood test to bring me into reference range. Some of us definitely need supplementation but there is no reason to take more than your body needs

Hi, I take 3000iu per day. Have never had level tested, probably should. My wife has osteoporosis and takes 5000iu per day. Her specialist says that she needs to keep her level above 70 on the blood test for her treatments to help. On that dose her level runs between 61 and 71 for the last 3 years, the upper level on the blood test where we are tested is 90. Probably best to discuss with your Doc. I am 71 with PV. Good luck to you.
