What feelings of loneliness have taught me.

So recently I have been getting feelings of loneliness. I felt bad at first because I did not want the people I do hang out with feeling like they weren't good enough or anything like that. Then I questioned the feelings and wondered if they were real or just something I was making myself believe. This ended up being ok because I soon realized all the differences between this year and last year things that could leave anyone feeling lonely.

1. there is no motivation to get to know your classmate (It is near the end of the year, everyone has on a mask (that kinda just automatically kills motivation to meet new people) and we are all six feet apart.) Last year you would at least get to know your classmates and have someone to chat with during class (when you were able to talk at least)

2. you do not bump into as many of your friends in the halls (this could just be me though because since I only have one class my school has me sit in the career center until my class but I would rather be there than sitting at home some more) it does not help that your friend could be on the opposite days as you.

3. I have less to do and so I am around fewer people and when I do it's often at school and my friends do not go to the same schools as me so I see everyone with their friends (or boy/girlfriends but that's a different story (I'm 17 can you blame me for getting antsy))

4. I also took into account that covid also has taken away my social skills.

Realizing all this helped me because I now realize that my feeling is real and it's valid. I also found something I can do to open the door to a possible new friendship or at least someone to talk to during class, so I don't feel so lonely.

But after all this, I realized the one hidden blessing in everything. My generation has always been called the generation that grew up on electronic devices but during covid electronic devices became the only way to keep in touch with others. So the skills became handy and a blessing to many, I am sure.

PS I know the picture has nothing to do with the post but I have found an interest in angel numbers recently and felt like sharing that in case anyone else wants to learn about them as well.
