I sometimes find it hard to talk and smile at the same time. When im asked a question i put my serious face on, completely focused on gathering my thoughts before i respond.
Booom! they are now giving me a big smile, probably saying your face looks grumpy.
Has anyone experienced this. A piece of advice be helpful.

I did the same thing today in the Dentist, he was walking up stairs behind me saying hello. I looked backward and I supposed I did not recognise Him. My Wife said I looked pensive and confused. When I walked in the Surgery I realized who it was, said hello and I said I did not know you were on the stairs, we both laughed and I had my check-up. Personally I am always doing things like that. You are not the only one. I am all focused when I am listening to someone speak and when I start worrying about my facial expressions, I completely lose focus. It's nerve-wracking when you start thinking about what might the other person be thinking about you.
Actually have, at my last workplace, some people thought I had no sense of humour, so very, very wrong.I think some of that has to do with my inexpressive face.
