Hi I'm Carol and am new on here. I suffer with depression and anxiety. The first time I knew that I had it was post natal depression in 1984, but I've since discovered that it links back to bullying at school over my looks, that was pre 1977. The bullying started again in 2012, this time at work, again it was my looks mainly but they added in pretty much everything. I have been on medication ever since then. I'm finding being shut in all the time at the moment quite a challenge, and am really worried about all my family as I can't see them to know they are safe.

Concentrate on the mind, developing and enjoying interest, I think. Enjoy your intellect with online courses or reading or watching documentaries. Also enjoy youtube on the internet, just google. Stress, not about looks - it something very little can change except the hair but the mind is something else. Enjoy LBC radio and the conversations there.
Depression is crap. Suffer myself. Being isolated is also crap. But in a pos3. They are safe yes. So see it as a good thing if you can. I started running a few years ago and tht has helped me tremendously and learnt about myself from it. Smile love yourself. Baby steps. X
With Lock-down I a can suggest is look at the resources you have in the place you are in
You have the Internet, so you have a tool where you can use Skype so you can call and see people you love. You can also in some cases shop for things you need urgently, also other things you need. You have sites like You Tube, where you can watch extensive videos from Travel to Tarot and everything in between.
You may have a garden or collect books, you can work in the garden, they are part of your property. You can spend all day in a garden. Do you have a dog ? or like going for a walk.
My Wife takes our Pax out in the morning and I take him out mid afternoon. Everyone is allowed to go outside once so we go out one at a time, Pax gets His two walks a day
I have a mass of photographs that need sorting, I have not had time to sort even now. That can also help to keep you busy We may have hobbies if not get yourself a hobby you have the tools at home, your computer, you can, like my Wife fall back on doing jig Saws to fill in her time.
It is important you consider hobbies and Diversions.
If you have family, children play with them ie Board Games etc. I listen to families and adults can wonder how to develop family time together, now everyone has the chance of family time.
Bullying is a horrible, disgusting pastime, it can ruin peoples life, At this time all I can suggest is run a mile if it is happening now, At this time. No-one has a right to do that to anyone. Do what it takes to protect yoursel.
Our telephone had its number changed in New Year, it has been a God send, I never now only let my email address to people I want to talk to etc. In fact my Wife and I have our own computers and we split up their use for different jobs, that can help, you are able to keep people at arms length.
