I’ve been unable to get my antidepressants from the doctors I’ve been trying for the past 2 weeks many phone calls, I understand the situation with the virus but the withdrawal from them are making this difficult situation worse, it is my understanding that just stopping mitrazipam isn’t the best need to really taper off them not just stop!

Just so frustrating to be fobbed off by them so many times by my gp,

It may be possible to get some from a pharmacy if you have been prescribed them before. See the following link:

Can I ask what your GP practice has been saying to you? Did you have a repeat prescription set up?

If you use online services, and have a repeat prescription set up, it's just a couple of clicks to get more meds ordered.

Also, with mirtazapine, if you need it to last longer, break them in half.

Good info from Alex. ☺ If you have no success with reception desk staff, check if the practice has a website where you can make contact by email. The practice manager usually see these emails and can book a telehealth appointment for you if offered. Most practices will not see you in person due to C-virus. If all else fails use snail mail and make it clear that you desperately need help for a mental health concern.

I have some experience with tapering off the meds so you need to decide if you want to try this while waiting for GP. I would suggest that you halve the dose every 7 days. If side effects appear and are too bad, go back to the last tolerable dose and try again. Going cold turkey is hardly ever recommended. Don't forget to tell your GP if you try this. Let us know how you go.

Oh yeah, complaining to the practice manager is an option.

Well as I mentioned, if the prescription doesn't come through to the pharmacy, if you explain that you are going through withdrawal you may be able to get a box without needing a prescription for it. You may need to pay for that service however.

You have hit brick walls so far. Try a new way around them. You have nothing to lose

I used 111 once when I had run out of a vital med and GP's and chemists were being difficult. They emailed a prescription that day to my chemists. x
