I self harmed last Friday which isn't something that I had done since November. The incident last week meant that I had to go to Minor Injuries to have the wound dressed on the Sunday. Since spending most days having the dressing changed, the wound has now started to heal. However, I feel like I want to self harm again. I've just started new antidepressants which I know may not be helping with my ideology. However, the urge to self harm is quite strong - is there any advice?
Phone Samaritan or Crisis or Emergency mental health team - is the best advice otherwise look into google mindful meditation youtube - that will help you calm down and relax and just let your thoughts pass you by - greater urge should be to listen to your brain - LBC radio or music or anything inspirational youtube or motivational youtube - try to use anything

Okay, thanks for your support. Much appreciated. I feel better than I did when I posted this so thank you
I am pleased you know what to do if you cut, going to A and E is the best way to get help, remembering the hospital will contact your GP by letter to explain what treatment they gave you at that time. They will also mention Self Harm, so it may be a good idea and make an appointment with the Surgery to see a Doctor who knows you
Draw up a list of how you feel and the reasons for your cutting distress. You need help so you can move on

Please contact an emergency line and speak to someone, also I find writing things down really helps me because once I start writing my mind flows and I end up writing down more than I thought, try keep your mind occupied, crossword, drawing, colouring, listen to music

Like others here have said, a crisis line until you can speak to a doctor and/or therapist. There are always people here to listen as well. Please stay safe.
Im sorry to hear of your struggle. Im hear to assist in anyways. I had a close friend who was a teacher that also struggled with this. She and I talked a lot and discovered her "triggers" and some of the deep rooted causes and discussed more healthier ways to deal with them
