Talk to your GP

I could not really settle for quite a few years, and it took time for me to find my chosen path in life, try relaxation technique Mindfulness you can purchase books on AMAZON for about £7.00. If you are stressed and depressed you need to learn how to control your feelings and consider your needs.

It took many broken relationships before We got married, We lived together for several years and married around the aforementioned age you have described.

We all go through rough times during this period of live, can you describe why you are feeling the way you are, to understand and take stock of you expectations you need to express your fears and act upon them. That is why I suggest talking to your GP

Hi Stayhumble and thank you for your post. Things sound so difficult for you as well as being exhausting. As borderriever has suggested, please make an appointment to see your GP. Borderriever has also made other helpful suggestions. Please be reassured that you are not alone. Many people experience these feelings and help is available. Your GP may suggest Cognitive Behavioural Therapy [known as CBT]. This is an evidence based talking therapy designed to help patients manage their problems by changing the way they think and behave. Sessions focus on becoming aware of thoughts which lead to anxiety and unhelpful behaviour patterns which can keep you from moving towards a rich and fulfilling life. For further information, please have a look at---

Please also have a look at the pinned post section on the screen for other useful information.

There are other treatments available, such as medication, which your doctor may suggest to help manage some symptoms. Some people find it helpful to try talking treatments and medication at the same time. Please stay on this caring forum where you will receive more replies from other members who will be able to help you.

Thank you and best wishes.

I have suffered the same distress as you for most of my life. I’m 53 now. It’s absolutely exhausting isn’t it? I used to be in denial about it and hate myself, which made the symptoms worse. I only started to make peace with myself when I accepted that worry and anxiety were part of my personality and I should try to listen to my internal dialogue without judgment or criticism. I feel much better doing that but I have ‘bouts’ when I’m not good so I up the self care, reduce my workload and may turn down some social commitments. I do something nice for myself every day and hang in there until I feel a bit better. I also have a good relationship with my doctor. Please persevere it takes time but you can help yourself alongside any treatments your doctor recommends. Anxiety can be turned to produce great self insight and creativity but you must not beat yourself up otherwise you will stay stuck. BCB
