Worried about taking sertraline

Hi all hope your all well, I've got a question has anyone been placed on sertraline before and are they safe to take? Im holding myself back from getting better because I worry it will affect my heart.

I took it for a while and although the side effects were ok, I felt that of all the meds I have tried, Sertraline was the least useful in managing my depressive symptoms. It could be the complete opposite for you though and no one can really comment on whether a particular medication is suitable for someone else. Have you spoken to your doctor about your concerns?

I haven't spoke to my doctor as of yet but I think it may be a good idea to

I have been on AD Medications of and on since the mid 60s, I have a congenital heart defect from birth, my blood pressure is low 128/70 or so and my blood cholestrol is about 3.8, at sixty eight years old.

So with all the medications I take My heart is well below the higher rates, Stop worrying take your AD or you will not get better

Hi IV been on it for 2 months, started on 25 now on 100 and came off citalophram to start sertraline. I was very prone to heart palpitations and panic attacks and they did get worse for a while. I am also taking 40mg propranolol 3times a day. About 10 days ago I turned a corner and have not had palpitations or panic attacks since. My mood is also on the up. Good luck
