How long do I take it for are there side effects?

hi some people might not get any or minor some can experience more effects it just depends on the person.if your feeling worse or it continues for a prolonged period go back to your doctor.

I been on sertraline now for 2 years and the doctor starts you off on a low dose and works you up to the therapeutic dosage. I am now on 1200 mgs and I’m very sensitive to medication had some effects nothing major like other mood stabilizers I was on before, that the doctor had to change the medication.

I had side effects such as nausea, drowsiness, and sweat still do too. It works for me I take it for bipolar but it lowers my moods a little too much on the lower side so I also have to take an antidepressant. It’s a balancing act with meds for bipolar depression and anxiety.

1200mg wow I was told that the max dose is 200mg and I was on that for 8 years finally I am now taking 150mg I don’t have sweats like I did on 200mg and I am a load calmer on the max dose I would argue with people, I wouldn’t be able to calm down once I was in such a state now on a lower dose I am on I am able to stay calm and not loose it I know that for some people they get the side effects that your only able to get max of four hours sleep and that can last for a month also I am still on sertraline today but to be honest I Still feel like I am walking on think ice or even egg shells but I still feel like it doesn’t help me such as I know with out it I am not nice to be around I often have low moods and high moods and it’s still the same on it having high and low moods I don’t like it but I have to take them because the doctors and other health professionals say I have a personality disorder and with out the meds I am a nasty person

I was wondering if that 1200 mg was a typo.

I was on this med and told 200 was max

Yes 200 is the maximum. I was told that and I take 150 mgs. x

1200 mgs is the therapeutic dose for where it does what it needs to. I don’t have any sleep issues on it what was causes my sleep issues is either I’m in a manic state or in a depressive state at times mixed states.

I had my Zoloft increased but then we had to shave off 25 mgs because it was keeping me up. It’s a delicate balance when it comes to meds for the mental state.

I too am a very nasty person well was, am a lot better now. I would say “not even the devil wants to mess with me” lol but when I get triggered clear the way but it’s not as intense anymore.

So please and good to know that it wasn’t just me that goes like that I think it was the medication that made me angry I broke my family up thankfully we are back together now

Hi micky I'm new to it starting dose 50mg one a day i was a bit wobbly felt sick at first for about 10 days at not very hungry but did perp a lot lol now by feel my old self again no more anxiety tipped and a lot happier seeing my Dr in a few weeks for assessment on how I'm doing .for me there what I needed hope this helps you👍

OMG got my meds mixed up I take 1200 mgs of my mood stabilizer and yes correct I was on 150 of sertraline and then shaved off 25 mgs sorry for the confusion

I also have highs and lows but because of a brain injury they just keep putting it down to that so either way I am not getting the help I need
