Hello everyone, I am new here to the Shaw Foundation community. I was recently diagnosed with bipolar 1. I also have panic disorder. I am here for support outside of my therapist, psychiatrist, and doctors. I am on depakote, lorazepam, atarax, and paxil. I just started the depakote today, so fingers crossed that it works because I do not wish to play medicine roulette anymore. If anyone has an encouraging words or experiences they wish to share, it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you and have a great day everyone

We hope we can help and suggest ways of controlling your health concern

Many here have the same problems as you. Like you I take a tranche of medications for various complaints and I wish that I could reduce dose from many of them, although I understand the reasons I take them, I still balk on the amount and side effects of all together. I keep informed.

All I can really say at this time, You are in partnership with your Health Professionals as far as your health is concerned, given that do not be frightened to ask what these medications do and how they will affect your condition. A patient does have the right to keep themselves informed regard treatment pathways they are progressing down.

I just started Depakote yesterday and I am getting a weird sensation. When I go to move quickly it's a little like the matrix where if moving left its almost slow motion until I arrive at the place needed. I hope this makes sense.
