Hi I was on citalopram until I felt it stopped working which in hindsight I’m not sure if it did or not. Got transferred to mirtazipine which has given me muscle tightness that won’t go away. So I am wondering if sertraline has helped for anyone as I have heard it is a well used antidepressant. I need something that is likely to help without unbearable side effects. What are everyone’s experiences with it? Thanks

Sertraline
Hi Krasykat.
I know a lot of people take Sertraline and get great results but I had to come off it after a month because of unbearable side effects. I’m now back on paroxetine which I’ve had before. It’s not kicked in yet but praying it will soon. Please don’t be put off trying it though as we are all different and what doesn’t suit one is great for another xx
Setraline is in the same class as Citalopram - so might not work. Speak to your doctor about Amitriptyline. I have been told several times that if SSRI's dont work then the tricycle ones might.
Had a great experience with it
Hi Krasykat. I've been on citalopram and Escitalopram (at different times of course!) and I'm sure they must be placebos because all they gave me was thickly coughs. I'm off to docs next week so don't know if I will be put on something else. It's such a disappointment when things don't help isn't it. Trouble is is that they don't work quickly enough, if at all. I hope you find the meds that will help.
When checking medication (group type and possible side effects) I go to the Mind website mind.org.uk/information-sup...
