Andrew, my heart goes out to you. You didn't give your age, but I suspect you are still quite young.

I had problems with hearing voices and seeing things in a distorted way, when I was in my early 20's. It scared the very wits right out of me. I had no one to go to that I could trust, and back then, there were no crisis hot lines or mental health clinics. Just those big scary psychiatric hospitals. The only way I could think of to get it to stop was to kill myself. Obviously, that didn't work. Without going into detail, I will only say that my life was very hard for many years, harder than it had to be, had I tried to get help.

i am urging you to seek help. Sometimes we just can't go it alone.

Over to the right hand side of this page is a list of crises hot lines, depending on your country of residence. Please find the crises number for you and call it.

Also consider the ER of your nearest hospital. Should you decide to go, tell them how you feel. You might be admitted to the mental health unit for 2-3 days. Long enough for an assessment and medication.

I am sending hugs your way. And wishing the very best for you. Please let us know how things work out, okay?

While I don't see things often (though I did see something fleetingly yesterday) I hear voices a lot (like about 2 mins ago - but then I kind of asked for that response lol)

Don't panic :) Help is out there and it's generally improving in scope and use

Hi andrew333 and welcome to this caring forum. This sounds very difficult for you. Have you spoken about how you are feeling to your family doctor? He/she will be able to help and support you and refer you to other specialist organisations that will be able to offer treatment and support as appropriate. This will make it easier for you to talk to your family about how you are feeling, so please reach out for help and support. You are not alone.

If you are in the UK, you may find information on the MIND Mental Health website helpful.

How are you feeling now? We care about you on this community and our members will try and support you as much as we can. In the meantime if you are in the UK and are feeling distressed, please call---

The Samaritans Freephone 116 123 [24 hour helpline] 7 days a week. They provide a listening ear.

If you live outside of the UK and are distressed, please have a look at the Crisis Support Helplines on the pinned posts section of the screen. Keep posting and take care.

Thank you and best wishes.

Andrew

Finding a place to live can be very hard at this time, there is a shortage of decent places especially if you are living down south.

Are there any problems at home, are they wanting you out. They need to understand how hard it can be to move on.

Try approaching the Council Housing Dept or Rental Agencies who will have properties on their lists. Many Estate Agencies also have rental Departments that are situated in Estate Agencies.

You can also try CAB, they will have contacts who may be able to help.

Social Services can also Help if you have been thrown out or asked to leave the Home address.

Let us know how you get on
