I’ve been prescribed sertraline after a breakdown due to stress at work. I started on 50mg and now week 4 the dr upped to 100mg. I also take 40mg propanolol as and when needed. I am due back in Work tomorrow and I can’t sleep. I have been off work for 4 weeks but have to go back due to only getting SSP. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Get yourself some antihistamines that make you drowsy, take 1 an hour before bed. Try not to overthink, just relax and do you best at work, you can’t do anymore. Good luck xx
For the first few days at work pace yourself.
The increase in your medication dose, your GP is following a well trodden pathway
Hi, I have just been Rx'd Sertraline and am waiting for it it arrive... Dr said he is starting me on a low dose then will up it in 2 weeks. I am hoping it will help both my anxiety and my depression.
I don't know where you live, I live in the States. I have always had sleep problems...at least for 15 yrs...At bedtime I take an OTC called Unisom, plus 3 mg melatonin and a .5 Ativan...when I wake around 3 I take another melatonin and IF that keeps me asleep I take another one around 5 to 6AM. I am retired so don't have to get up early...Maybe you are worried about returning to work and once you do, things will feel more relaxed for you! That would be good. Whatever you do, do NOT ever agree to take Ambien (Rx sleeping people) Has the Sertraline helped you otherwise? I hope so. Good luck to you!!
Thanks for the replies and advice, I really appreciate it. I live in uk, not sure I can get melatonin? I’ll ask dr next week. Went to work and after a huge struggle and 50mg propanolol I managed to walk in the door!
They’ve been very supportive, it’s going to be a hard time these next couple of weeks but hoping it’ll get easier as the medication levels out.
