heart failure

today I was diagnosed with heart failure at age 27. I am honestly in shock right now and can’t stop crying. My anxiety is going through the roof right now and I don’t know what to do or say.

Hiya, I am sorry to hear this, I have been diagnosed with heart failure too as well as other multiple health conditions which are deemed as life limiting. If you have a look on this site there is a community run by the British Heart Foundation and you will get a lot of advice from it. You can also go on the website for the British heart foundation it has lots of up to date information and advice plus a helpline. I do fully understand how you are feeling, I was in shock too and sometimes feel like I haven’t a future but if you have the right management from a heart failure team and correct medication management, you can live a normal life but granted there will be some limitations. I am still struggling to comprehend everything and it has really affected my mental and emotional well being. Too look at me I appear to look really well but in fact it is the exact opposite on the inside. I do hope you have family and friends around you to support and understand you as you will need them. I hope this advice helps, take care of yourself 😊

Thank you for the advice I’m not feeling so alone now. You’re right I can live a long life if I take care of myself. I am currently on a heart monitor and new medication. Thank you, I hope you take care of yourself too ♥️
