This programme on BBC2 tonight bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b...

shows that new research is proving that (some) mental health conditions are caused by automimmune disease. Hypothyroid (low thyroid gland levels) is an autoimmune disease.

At the end of the day, our bodies are made up of a load of ingredients – vitamins, minerals, amino acids, hormones, etc. If just one of those is too low or too high, our body will be out of kilter and give us a bad reaction. Our brains are made up of a high percentage of fat for example. Since I’ve been on a high fat diet, my depression has lifted. For many years I have felt suicidal for long periods and have fought to get my health back. I am still on 50mg of sertraline a day but also it was autoimmune disease causing my insanity.

Thanks for sharing. I will have a watch. Like you I noticed a marked difference in my mood & depression when I started eating fat, including the demonised saturated fat!
