Wow! That’s a pretty serious way to try and end your life!! If you are starting to feel that way again, go to your nearest A&E department and tell them that you are struggling this badly. Alternatively, you could locate your nearest mental health hospital and check yourself in for treatment. It sounds like you could really do with getting help in a safe environment where you will have round the clock care and help!!

Finally, If I were you, I would tell that doctor of yours to f**k right off!!!! He obviously isn’t taking you seriously at all and sounds like one of these half wits who thinks everything can be fixed by “Getting a grip” and “counting your blessings” which is utter nonsense!! You need serious help and support ASAP!

Sending you loads of hugs right now! I do hope you manage to get the help and support!

Hunny, you are NOT burdening anyone with your problems!!

What I can see is a man who is actively seeking help and wanting to get better. That’s a very important step for anyone suffering with mental health problems.

Have you ever been able to sit with a good psychiatrist, tell them exactly what happens, emotional wise, and get a good diagnosis?

If you have and the treatment isn’t working, you should go back to a psychiatrist, let them know their treatment ain’t doing sh*t and that way they can start again and keep working until they find treatment(s) that work for you.

Obviously, you have been suffering with horrendously bad depressive stages. When you’re not struggling with these really bad lows, what is your moods/emotions like?

Hi Webbi nice to meet you and welcome to the site. I am sorry to hear about your issues. Please don't feel like you are a burden on here because you certainly aren't. We all need to take sometimes as well as give and that's fine. We are all here for you.

I definitely think you need to seek counselling - if nothing else it will give you someone else to talk to apart from us who understands and this will help. Please don't have the attitude though that this won't or doesn't work as the right type of counselling will help you. There are lots of different types so you might need to try a few before finding one right for you.

Counselling isn't an easy option or a short term one. It can be very painful as you are bringing up feelings and emotions you have suppressed over many years. Remember too it took years to feel like this so it will take time to help you.

The other thing is I think you are trying too hard to be 'normal' in front of your wife. She wants to help you so let her but tell her how she can as she won't automatically know. The more you talk with her the more you will feel a release of your feelings.

Meanwhile stay with us and keep talking and we will do our best to help and support you.

Hello Webbi and welcome to the forum. I am sorry for your experience a few months ago. Have you received any support since then? If you are having difficulty with expressing how you are feeling, it often helps to write this down. As SweetNSour suggested, it may be better to try and see a different doctor if you can. Could your wife go with you for support? There is help and support available. Tell your wife how you are feeling as this will help. If you are feeling this way, please go to your nearest A/E department or dial 999 for an ambulance. Have a look at the pinned posts to the right of the screen [Crisis support helplines]. Also, please stay on the forum where you can receive support from other members. Best wishes.
