Feel so stupid :-(
Hi annymonous ,
Which comment do you feel embarrassed about, the fact that you resigned or your line managers phone call?
Chloe
hi chloe the fact she said my dyspraxia was causing me loads of problems
Isn't that disability discrimination? She should be doing more to help you instead of making an issue out of it.
It sounds like a final dig so she gets the last say to me and makes you feel worse. People like this are not worth anything. My two sons have dyspraxia and autism and I would hit the roof if anyone said this to them, she is the one with the problem not you. It's an employers duty to make adaptions to make it easier for you to do the job with a particular condition. But if she phones you again record the call and inform her you are doing so.
Well, it is causing you problems you must admit, I'm sure she was only trying to help and wasn't being nasty. Maybe you are feeling very vulnerable at the moment and therefore extra sensitive, which is very understandable but please don't dwell on it, it won't help you. How about you ring her back tomorrow and ask if you can go in for a chat to see what support she can offer you?
Take care
Chloe
thankyou all,my managers words were,I disclosed in her I had dyspraxia and it was causing mw loads of issues and she was doing what she could to support me but didn't know what else to do and felt she couldn't anymore all the time.i reel so stupid for this irs not mt fault I had dyspraxia, she said they couldn't do anything else as I would still have to do the role I feel ashamed and stupd for this.
i hsve handed my notice in i sent an email just feel sp raw
Have you checked out the dyspraxiafoundion.org it is based in the u.k.
Here in the US, it is illegal to loose a job because on an incurable disorder. You are protected by the constitution. I am not sure where your from, but if you felt pressured into resigning due to your illness you can still be reinstated. You are not at fault. Your boss should have tried harder and solicited help from an outside source or her superiors before she ever spoke to you in the manner she did. I am sorry you are going through this. Please try to seek professional help. Get someone in your corner and fight it.
We are here for you.
Brooke
Yes it's illegal here in the uk also. It's the employers duty to make adaptions for disability so that people can do the role. This also sounds like constructive dismissal, where an employer acts unreasonable and the employee has no choice to resign. That's most likely why she has phoned and said this and not put it in writing. I think it's disgusting.
