I have spent some time in UK, London, as the matter of fact 2 years and i am coming back over there in a few months. I am not young, so many years are behind me, so much experience I have gained. I am a software engineer, a person who has always been "educated" to think pragmatically, to seek rational solution of everything.

That is all fine, but there are some issues that we cannot solve, even if we find rational and the least painful choice. Sometimes we need to work in order to pay rent, to buy food etc, and plus we need to go to a college because we simply want to advance ourselves and therefore find better job. It is our human duty to enjoy the benefits of the developed human civilization and that benefit belongs to us, it is our right.

If i want to go to a college and i want to work at the same time, something not so good this fact will result in. We may worsen our health whether physical or mental. People who suffer from mental disorders(especially I aim at depression, anxiety, stress) should try to find the balance. One factor extremely important is that we cannot have everything in the same time. Sometimes, we just need to get rid of one thing in order to highly benefit from another.Simply, our modern and "civilized" way of life has imposed its inevitably negative consequences unnoticed.

I do not much about bi-polar or some other serious diseases, but I know that depression, anxiety and stress exclusively result from internal unbalance. Our soul becomes tired with our way of life, and it revolts against that arrangement of life-style. but, we are not listening to that "internal voice" , we still continue walking on the old path being afraid to be something different, being afraid to disappoint others around us who expect something that only they know what it is.

We need to decode our internal voices as a genuine information that cannot be seen by eyes, cannot be heard by ears and cannot be smelled by nose. Once we achieve hearing them our lives will change diametrically.

How did you get over your depression then?

I appreciate your direct question! In the world we live people usually ask directly, and those who answer usually beat around the bush and play professionals(someone like me :))))

Fine. When you are in depression you are in MINUS on the axis. I was in MINUS(deep MINUS). Then I few years ago i raised to zero by my own analysis! And now I I have really managed to raise above zero.

The process is not short! But it is genuine and extremely effective as far as I was concerned.

Perhaps, what i will say next is gonna be large mouthful for you, but what I imply is: listen to your inner voice.

thanks a lot and I will try to stick around unless you all decide otherwise

Hello, George. Welcome. Your post interests me. May I ask if you are referring to inspiration which comes from meditation? Do you mean that we should listen more often to that inner voice which speaks to us of things we know to be true yet we tend to ignore it?

Hello darkshadow(in future glowingsun). Simply, my answer is:YES. We live in a material world. We are guided by material stuff. We are stimulated(evilly?) by material achievements. We are spurred by personal success without asking our counterparts(=all human beings) how they feel! Any loss of any individual of our kind is our loss as well. We know it very well, but our Ego prevents us from admitting that, and as a result we start unconsciously to feel guilty conscience which finally, gradually, within years, results in depression.

Thanks for welcoming me, i am really happy.

It's up to you whether you stay George as this is an open forum. I think you are forgetting that not everyones depression is from the same source as yours. We are all different. Also too that not everyone is able to hear words of wisdom at that particular time in their depression.

It would be wonderful if you had a general cure though!

yes, there is general cure. But, first i need to assess if everyone can swallow that cure. So, actually there is no general cure. funny, is not it? First, all that i need (for start) is to find out what the reason is for any individual case. Do not get me wrong: i have the cure, i am convinced of it, but it takes some time. I am glad to meet you all and the time will show that.

By the way, what i imply is: depression results (generally spoken) from internal energy of a CERTAIN KIND(THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT) THAT NEEDS TO BE RELEASED IN A CERTAIN(SPECIFIC) WAY.

thanks and i am open for further conversation

I am so pleased to meet you---a kindred spirit. Most, if not all, of my anxiety and depression stem from bereavements. I think I have always been a dependent person who needs someone stronger to lean on. One after another they have now passed away and I feel unprotected ---not physically but emotionally. I cannot believe in the Christian God, nor any other, for many reasons. I live in hope that there is an Afterlife but am terrified that there is only annihilation.

Can you say anything at all which will take away my fear? I know it's a tall order so don't worry if you'd rather not.

Kind regards, Myra.

i had been unprotected all my life. All alone, without any real friends, without a person to rely on. Whenever I had a serious problem, no other person wanted to get involved deeper. Only, superficial, diplomatic support. neither my father, nor my mother(i have no brothers or sisters) really wanted to know what a problem i had.

Anyway, to stop whining, I would like to ask you: Do you work out? i mean if you are able to work out!

Not now but I was physically active when I was younger up to about 8 years ago. I do, however, always feel lighter and more optimistic after a long walk in the fresh air.I lift my head to the sky, breathe deeply and the effect is immediate. I study the trees and the flowers as I go and a feeling of kinship with them fills my mind. It's a lovely feeling.

I feel less isolated at those times. Does this make any sense to you?

You are very welcome as long as you are not selling anything LOL.

Do you feel you are still suffering from your condition or do you feel the need to be around people who are still suffering from their condition.

Where are you from. We get a mixed bag of people here who come for support and understanding, My condition is Reactive Depression. Are you suffering similar or is it something else. You seem to have a good job, do you feel that it is a challenge ??
