While I am not particularly keen on Christianity, spirituality is truly what gets you out of the dark. It doesn't even have to be "any" mainstream or underground flavor. The link between well-being and having a spiritual dimension in your life, is very under-explored and not talked about often enough. It has been the underlying principle in my own recovery, and continues to be so.

Ironically though it is not often made explicit it's there in lots of ways - even something as simple as five ways to wellbeing could be said to be based on spiritual principles, and what is so wonderful about the spiritual dimension is that, usually, it is based on simple, practical, everyday things and being mindful or ourselves and others. Simple but not always easy!
