Irritated epididymal cyst
To avoid any complications, I think you should seek rapid medical review.
I already have done and the doctor sent me home saying it was due to the cyst bing inflamed. I was just wondering how long this inflammation will last?
How did you manage to irritate the cyst? Pain means something isn’t right. I still think you should be checked again if your symptoms are getting worse.
I palpated and moved it too much because I thought it was getting bigger. Right now its too tender to touch. I’m not in any pain except when i touch it.
Epididymal cysts are not usually painful. Has it been confirmed on a scan ? if you have acute scrotal pain you should be getting a medical assessment.
i am getting an ultrasound soon. I believe its beacuse i was palpating and touching the cyst so much that it became inflamed or irritated.
Have you had sti testing recently ?
I don’t have an STI. I believe it’s the irritation I caused it by touching it too much.
If the level of pain is very high then it is possible torsion ( twisting ) of the cyst may have occurred and you should ring 111. However this is very unlikely unless you were doing some extreme manipulation.
I don’t think it was a torsion as the pain is not so extreme anymore. The cyst is now very tender to the touch. I also randomly feel a tugging or tearing sensation in my Scrotum. Do you think it will heal completely? I’m not sure if I caused nerve damage
You wont have caused nerve damage. But if you continue to experience high levels of pain call 111
That’s good to hear, thanks for your help. Do you think the cyst will come back bigger after it’s healed?
No, depending on the type of cyst, they can fluctuate in size , and don't require treatment unless pressing on other structures.
My gp said it is an epididymal cyst. So you don’t think the fact that it’s irritated now will make it bigger once it’s healed. Also do you think it being irritated now will have long-term effects?
no . Google epididymal cysts .

Thanks. I’ve been trying to google these answers but nothing on irritating epididymal cysts has come up.
Your doctor will be able to answer this question after you have the ultrasound examination I would think.
Well, I am in the same predicament. A Varicosectomy was done when I was 23 years old and a kidney scan as well during the op. Peed frothy blood for a week. When I went back2the urologist who performed it, complaining of a now very sensitive and sore L testicle, half the size of te R, I was bluntly told, "if it bothers you that much it can be removed" Needless to say I didn't go back to him and am now 55, turning 56 next week Fri with PURE blood in my Semen.......make one think right?
