Operations do not work, say urology (testicle pain)

Urology say they will not operate, they cant see what is causing my testicle pain

Ultrasound scan shows a few small cysts and varicoceles which are less than 2mm in size, urology say these are not the problem.

Urology say testicle pain is very common, and operations rarely work. They say the patient is often left in worst pain than before.

Is this true?

The pain all started back in 2006, I would be on my feet all day and yes! I was heavy lifting. I was a warehouse manager during this time, and before that I worked on the building with my father, I was also into fitness and weight training.

I've said this to urology, but they say the varicoceles are too small, they say we cant fix what we cant see. They have said my balls are normal, that an operation would most probably put me in worst pain.

I had another examination yesterday, the urologist really spent some time checking each testicle. As soon as she touched the right one I felt horrendous pain, she said this was normal???

When she checked the left testicle I felt nothing, but she really kept pressing hard and eventually got the left one to hurt.

By the time she had finished playing with my right testicle I was in excruciating agony, the left one felt ok after a few seconds. I had to limp back to the chair because the pain from the right testicle was shooting down my leg, she saw this and said again this was normal??? I asked the question WHY is my left testicle and leg not in pain? She said this is what nerves do, its all quite normal???

I myself believe my right epididymis is the problem, because the bottom of the epididymis is larger than the left one. The right testicle is longer at the bottom, and if you touch/press on this area it triggers the pain. This explains when I wear certain jeans or trousers with slightly less room in the crotch area, the seam of the clothing touches the bottom of the epididymis and triggers the pain, the pain then goes down my right leg and causes me to limp.

Why won't they do anything? what a crazy situation to be in.

i've had two consultants tell me different things but after having everything checked out (there's nothing critical/sinister) - there is neuropathic (nerve) pain still there that they can;t explain or do too much about. Trying prescription to desensitive the nerves now.

Hi there, What is your story, do you have left or right testicle pain?

Have you had any scans done, have they shown any cysts or varicoceles?

What medication are you currently taking?

had operation on undescended left as a child. Partially successful but always had a tightness.

4 months ago this turned suddenly into excruciating pain. Like a hand was trying to pull my left ball up into my stomach. A&E job. Got painkillers and tests afterwards including ultrasound - showed up minor things but nothing serious and nothing to explain the pain. A couple more A&E trips in the following months.

Can relate to the excruciating pain to touch. Has since moved from the back of the left to the front of the left and now front of the right as well. Pulsing pain that comes and goes.

Did discuss removal of left but odds weren't great (50:50) for it to improve - 10% it could get worse...

Now onto pain management. Amitriptyline has been effective but makes you feel shocking the next morning. they're getting me a different one - will post when I now what it is.

Hi, I've tried all the strong drugs such as Gabapentin, Nortriptyline, Amitriptyline and now Pregabalin, none of them worked. The drugs would make me feel terrible, on top of still having the testicle pain.

This is where I have found that Tramadol has helped, and it doesn't turn me into a zombie.

Please let me know how you get on.
