How would you react to friends using the word "slut" to describe your mum for 4 weeks straight? Then one uses it to describe your girlfriend

I realise they view it as banter but I don't think it excuses them.

For context, this happened during lockdown, over voice chat. Hence why they felt like they could speak that way in the first place.

I think your “friends” have problems. Language like that is not good.

You also should be comfortable to call your friends out. Stopping them when they say that and tell them although they think it’s banter and everyone is laughing it is not. It is hurtful and they should stop. It is ok to call out unacceptable behaviour and friends should understand-if they don’t, then you need better friends. You can stop/challenge them in a polite way-without making a big deal about it.
