Hi guys

Need help with this please

For years I have been bothered with constipation and it ended up with me in hospital getting an operation on an anal fissure that ended up getting infected. They found a small weeping abscess that they drained and left open to heel. After the operation and a few years on everything was ok then one summer I was at a barbecue and had some over cooked chicken. The following day I went to the toilet and I was totally constipated to the point I strained and ended up tearing myself and it bled. After various creams and suppository it settled down. But one day I got up and the pain was very bad at my anus then later in day the pain went away but at the same time I got green/blood coloured fluid discharge from my anus. So went to doctor and and he gave me two lots of antibiotics to take to hit it hard to cure problem but what happened was I ended up that my anus when I was sitting down was red hot. I then started passing blood and mucus and was rushed into hospital with a inflamed colon. They gave me rectal foam to settle everything back down which it did at the start but the problems I am getting at moment is ongoing rawness causes by sweating down below. Ever time I get hot it is multiplied around my anus to the point I get so hot that it is causing rubbing rashes running forward to my scrotum. I am using canesten cream with hc in it and it helps but I do a lot of walking and the minute I start I am getting this between my anus running forward to my scrotum. I have just turned fifty and this is now getting to me. Any help or advice welcomed

I am unsure what your exact problem is. Is your issue inside your rectum , or are you having problems with a rash outside ? The rash you are describing sounds like tinea cruris , more common in warmer climates . it is also more likely if you have a medical condition like diabetes, have you had a sugar check recently ? Lastly have they ruled out you having inflammatory bowel disease by doing biopsies ? or if non UK, parasite infections ?

Hi galen70

Problem I am getting is always very hot down there which is leading to sweating and rashes. Starting to get slight fluid discharge from what I think is open wound at back of anus. I currently keep a swap close to my anus to wick away any sweat or fluid leaks. When sitting down there is rawness at rear of anus. I am due to go to hospital later this month for them to give me a mri scan around my pelvis area. But I have had camera up my bottom and biopsy which came back inconclusive. I think the biggest issue is heat turning to sweating ending up with rashes down there. I even have to sit on a gel cushion to cool me down and cool dashing sometimes.

Dear Kingfisher,

So the open wound may be a fistula , for which there is a minor surgery which can fix it. You didn't say if you have had any sugar check recently. The MRI scan may be good if you indeed have a fistula to see the extent of it. And may also help somewhat to rule out inflammatory bowel disease. If you are overweight there is increased skin fold thickness which increases the chance of tinea cruris , with or without diabetes. Topical clotrimazole cream will help. Cotton underwear. Weight loss . and controlling diabetes if present.
