How Long After Taking Doxycycline Can I Drink?

I had a bit of an infection recently for which I had to go to the sexual health clinic. The nurse gave me 100mg Doxycycline, 1 2times a day, which lasted until last Monday (20th). But the nurse told me it might take a week to kick in.

At the moment, I'm feeling better - the infection seems to have cleared up, but does what the nurse said mean that the drug is still in my system? Or am I allowed to drink when I go out tomorrow?
