im 54 male trying to lose weight so try walking for an hour each morning to start me off however the top of my feet get so sore i have to stop or walk really slow although i weant to walk further and longer-any ideas to what would cause this

Best advice would be to try a decent pair of walking shoes, these will give more support than trainers. If you use trainers wear decent insoles with them and do not over tighten laces.

Swimming is also good exercise with less strain on the body.

Can I ask what exactly you mean by the top of your feet ? do you mean your toes ? your calves ? your thighs ?
