Circumcision Road to Recovery Day 22 - Slow Progress

Hey Guys, just wanted to give an update where I'm at. Getting circumsized has been the worst experience of my life. I should have left it the way it was and dealt with the tightness.

After going back to my Urologist where he put more sutures in, all but 2 popped within days.

My Urologist said he was afraid of that - the trauma from the initial rip has my skin hating me.

My only option is to just let it heal as-is, which will cause the scar on the bottom to he wider than the top (not happy), but he insists it will heal properly. His directions are to keep neosporin on it and reapply 3 to 4 times a day and keep it open - no clothes. It's been a week since I've seen him and it doesn't look like it's healing any. When I called him he said that it's going to heal from the inside out and we are looking 4 to 6 weeks as of last week.

My main concern is the healing! I've been out of work since the initial surgery on 12/11/18. I have to go back to work next week and it's worst than ever. The skin in the back is not truly connected and I fear that there's just going to be more complications. My next Urologist visit is next Friday, 1/11/18. I will follow up with any update I get from my Urologist.

Damn bro! Sorry man. You should definitely take more time off from work. Not safe for you otherwise....

I agree with Kenadams2, if any possible you should try to take at-least one week more at home.

Open wound is not to play with, especially in so important part of the body.

I hope you will heal fast.

That’s too bad and sorry you have to go through this. It’s May heal just fine at the end or not but it will heal. I would say let it heal, wear boxers and loose clothing, apply neosporin 3 times a day. What sort of job do you have? If it’s a physical job take another week off. If it’s a desk job it makes it easier.

If scaring is an issue 6montjs from now I’ve heard some use laser therapy to remove scaring.

Good luck and keep us posted
